Creepy, like a mini Jurassic Park waiting to hatch. As Antarctic ice melts, the bacteria frozen inside may revive and be taken up by microbes in the oceanA little like Pandora's Box The younger bacteria would have been simpler, and them reforming in comparison to older ones, may be compared to the difference between a 100 piece jigsaw puzzle, and a 10,000 piece. Not only are they more complicated, but the percentage of pieces to make up the edges, are smaller. The way the reform could have implications, could we get the equivalent of bacterialogical stem cells that can adapt to a situation more easily. |
