citizenbfk says: Gads: Collective punishment. Apartheid. The slow starvation of over a million people right in front of our eyes. And Bush just returned from Israel last week, with all the bull*hit words of yada yada blagh blagh peace bull*shit they've been feeding us for decades. The elections can come soon enough. Sorry Gaza. Really sorry. They have surely suffered enough, but will a new government really change things? I have my doubts. Well...overthrowing Hitler was good. What is sad is that this is caused by two people that cannot agree An interesting questions was asked on Aljazeera last night: why doesn't Egypt increase the amount of electricity that it supplies to Palestine? Right now, it's at 5%. And I think they sell fuel as well. Egypt could step in and take away energy as a weapon used by Israel. Electricity is cheap here. My monthly bill averages 5 Egyptian Pounds - less than $1.00. so let's see. It would be just fine with you if your neighbors across the fence started shooting rockets into your neighborhood, started sniping at your children with guns, started putting bombs on their children and sent them over to blow up you and yours - this would be acceptable behavior? There is a way for this to end, and its for the murderers to be stopped. As in stop shooting rockets over the border. Something similar happened in WWII - we just blew up enough Japanese and Germans until they stopped trying to kill everyone. Or all the bleeding heart Arab countries (including Egypt which shares a border for goodness sake) can decide that they want to take care of this bunch of murderous thugs. You forget C.R. that Israel roughed off their land- with plenty of help like the US for example. So, death by starvation is cool, right. There's not one thing in this world that can be solved by more violence. By the way, where in your right winged Bible does it say it's ok to commit genocide? Stereotyping doesn't cut it either. Your view of the world is shallow and pathetic. Do yourself a favor. Ask your God for a little enlightenment so when you open your mouth venom doesn't spew out. "....where in your right winged Bible does it say it's ok to commit genocide?" Read it and see. For someone to think that, let alone write it, is just sick. Indeed, it is one of the great ironies of history that more wars have been fought and more people killed, in the name of religion than for any other cause. But try as you may to square this religious martial fervor with Scripture you can't. Even in the Hebrew Bible, which begins with accounts of "holy" wars waged by God's people, often with God's active intercession, presages a new age and a new ethic to come. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. And Jesus... More wars are fought for land, power and resources than religion; religion is just a good excuse to get support. It seems the "Old," and New Testiments are not worth the paper they are written on, as far as controlling acts of aggression and genocide. |
