I love this photo. It brought back memories of when going to the Post Office was almost like a meeting place - you said "Hey" to neighbors - got your mail - talked a little gossip. At least that's what we used to do in my little Carolina Town way "back in the day".

Does anyone else remember the old lock boxes? Pretty cool photo from my Flickr Friend! He's collecting photos of every old Post Office in South Carolina - US. A tribute to days gone by, of sorts.

I remember them as a kid. There were brass and had a window in them; you didn't have to open them up to see if you had mail. We always had our mail delivered to the house though, but I can remember going to the post office and buying stamps for my Mom and seeing them there.
