Mind you, if that was the crux of the complaints, I would agree, no need to waste the money. But it isn't. The problem is with how the administration handled this from the beginning. Those lesson plans asking children things like 'what can you do to help the president' or 'how did the president inspire you' or suggesting teachers read books about Obama to their students was the first most people heard about Obama speaking to the children. Add to that how heated things have become this summer with people who oppose the current health care plan being called everything form racists, to shills for the insurance companies, to domestic terrorists and there was no way this wasn't going to happen. Had they skipped the lesson plan and people had learned about this first from the White House instead of t...
