As this story points out, when tourism declined, the Mara Conservancy had to scrape together funds to pay rangers responsible for keeping animals safe from poachers. An entrepreneurial ranger did his best soliciting donations via his blog, Twitter and Flicker. Now he's helping other rangers adopt the same approach.
