It wasn't because he wanted to tilt toward the Arabs and away from Israel. It wasn't because he wanted to "engage" Iran and the Muslim world. It wasn't because he was itching to grab the reins of government and make grand decisions about war and peace in Afghanistan and Iraq. It wasn't because he wanted to move the United States to the economic left as Germany and Sweden, for example, were reaffirming their faith in capitalism and moving to the economic right. And it wasn't because he had a burning desire, as required by Article II, Section I, to recite this oath at his inauguration: "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." American thinker is an oxymoron. I owe you a pop on this one mountainpalm. I give up. Why did he want to become President? Oh Jay .thanks for giving up.....finally!!!! No, Mr. Obama ran for the highest office in the land because of the perks that go with it: Air Force One, Camp David, rent-free living quarters, chefs, chauffeurs, valets, bodyguards, and countless modern-day equivalents of Greek slaves and Turkish janissaries The reason is POWER...Chicago Crime Boss....but he doesn't have what it takes... Perks like his recent trip to Copenhagen. He spent a total of 3 hours there on the ground! Additional aircraft According to the White House’s website, “Several cargo planes typically fly ahead of Air Force One to provide the President with services needed in remote locations.” These include carrying the vehicles for his motorcade, Secret Service personnel, an advance scout detail and more. The exact details of the planes and the number of them is of course top secret but let’s assume there were three planes, comparable to the one Michelle Obama flew. *Total warming effect of CO2 for additional aircraft: 3 X 726 = 2,178 tons of CO2 The Final Tally * 5,571 tons CO2 ... katsteevns..very good! Not surprisingly it seems to have missed the mark with some folks  I hope his reason is to not turn this country into another Cuba or North Korea. Maybe he just wanted to straighten out the economic and moral mess of the previous 8 Republican years. At least that's why the majority of people in this U.S. of A. voted for him. No "hidden agenda" required. Blaming the other guy is a poor pizz-azz excuse for a president to be making. Some of the positive actions I expected of him that he promised during his campaign would take little or no effort at all, like solidly backing Gay Rights. Most of the people in this country backed a loser, the wise ones will get out now and with any luck people will forget that they voted for him. Let's only hope Chestnut............. I guess life is full of LESSONS learned.........and boy did we ever have a rude awakening this time around! Someone woke up?!? Where?  Seriously though, I think a few people have woke up but they just don't want to draw lots of attention. I hope so. |
