zasel says: Stories like this really warm my heart. I am sure the fact that my partner of 26 years, Arnold and I are getting married in Montreal on August 31st has something to do with my personal reaction to this report. I am so proud to live in a country that finally recognizes that same-sex couples are just as much in love, and dedicated as heterosexual pairs. Anyone who knows Arnold and me knows how very much in love we are, and how we share our lives together completely. These two ladies are another example of how love between two people is special no matter what sexual orientation is involved. As an American living in Canada, I am always saddened to see how far behind my home country is from Canada and other countries in the world who are finally recognizing the rights of gays and lesbians in their society. Yes, a great deal of progress has been made in the U.S. but there appears to be a real hard-core resistance to granting equal rights to homosexual couples. Agreed but would it not have been more fun to continue living in sin. Ha ha. Well Righty, my friend, in a real sense I agree with you. But after living in sin for 26 years, Arnold and I decided it was time to make honest men out of each other. thanks for the chuckles righthand and zasel! It's moments like this that make me proud to be Canadian . Go figure. I can't. Zasel, may your next 26 years be together and as happy as the last 26 years. Thank you Righty. Your good wishes are so gracious and very much appreciated. Purely selfish. If you are happy with your life, a little must rub off on others and eventually a bit of your happiness comes back to me. All happy. Or maybe it's Spring in the air on a beautiful Irish morning. Who cares. I'm happy. Your happy. More importantly you reminded us to be happy. |
