WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tried to please a pro-Israel crowd this week by saying that Jerusalem should be the capital of Israel and that the holy city should not be divided.

That angered Palestinians, who claim part of the city, and Obama clarified his remarks to say that the fate of Jerusalem should be a matter for negotiation. That angered some Israelis and their U.S. supporters.

By week's end no one was happy.

Responding to a question about Obama's shifting position on Jerusalem at today's presser in the Everglades:<BLOCKQUOTE>
I can’t react to every comment that Senator Obama makes, cause it probably will change.  As it did on sitting down and talking with unconditionally with Ahmadinejad and other dictators.  But the point is, Israel—Jerusalem is undivided.  Jerusalem is the capitol.  And we should move our embassy to Jerusalem before anything else happens.  The subject of Jerusalem itself will be addressed in negotiations by the Israeli government and people.</BLOCKQUOTE><P>
Just to recap, speaking at Aipac on Wednesday, Barack Obama said:</P><BLOCKQUOTE>
