I have to disagree with this. I am willing to bet that the parents of children who are being abused or have been in the past have NO CLUE!!! Pedophiles are good at picking their prey. The child that is going to be prayed upon is the child that will not say anything. So much of this goes on directly in front of our noses & we can't see it because most DON'T want to see it. When it happened to me I did not tell my mother for 7 yrs...i knew she would kill him. It took me 20yrs to tell my father...it was his brother....Plus he was so angry at my mom that I KNEW he would blame her, because he blamed all things on my mom at that time out of spite. I know it holds true for me that the majority of my girlfriends, so I would be willing to say that most women know of someone, if not several who have been "touched" this way & have never told anyone. One of my friend's stepfather raped her for years. She never told her mother & never plans to because she doesn't want to hurt her mom. So to think that people are NOT interacting with other children for fear of being falsely accused is BS!
