egoldstein says:
McCain has responded to Obama's suggestion that we better maintain our cars in ways that promote fuel efficiency with childish (yet somehow effective) criticism.

The amazing thing these days is that facts don't seem to matter. McCain is jumping on Obama with lies and accusations that, in my opinion, discredit his own reputation for running clean, dignified campaigns.

To quote Jack Nicholson in "A Few Good Men" --
"You can't handle the truth"
Problem is most people expect politicians to lie (excepting their candidate) so truth does not matter, only party loyalty.

Someone told me McCain is sending tire pressure gauges to supporters to mock Obama. How ... juvenile.

Thanks for clipping, Eric. I also read about Lieberman being a long time advocate of proper tire inflation.

Yeah, Akipta, that was in the article.

No surprise there. Anyone remember the band-aids the Republicans wore at their conversion in 2004 mocking Kerry's purple hearts?

Respect for military service my ass!

The REAL Napster
Fact? ROFL!
Obama's tire remark has already been slam dunked completely on other sites and another clip. Food for thought for all you so-called 'tire experts'.

And Obama's the one full of hot air. Which by the way is NOT good for tires. Smart people are filling their tires with NITROGEN these days, (COSTCO does this as well) as it doesn't expand or contract with heat and cold like normal atmospheric air does. This leads to better tire wear, reduced need to fill or even check them. Not too mention that alot of cars (and on all new models it's required) check the tire pressure themeslves alertin...

egoldstein is right. Facts do not matter and he should know better than anyone. Most people do keep their tires properly inflated anyway. So the whole suggestion is a load of crap.

Also, only 45 percent of those 20 million barrels are used for gasoline. ( 55 % is used for something OTHER than gasoline) So, Time magazine is involving themselves in quite pile of propaganda by spreading that 2% over the entire 20 million barrels.

It might save on consumption a little, if Obama's assumption is correct that there are vast numbers driving around without properly inflated tires, which is really kind of ridiculous. But, no one is arguing with that. The argument is with Obama's silly suggestion, ...

And, by the way, how do you enforce properly inflated tires? No-one gives a crap what Obama suggests as it relates to their tires. Jeesh! That is why the whole suggestion is just juvenile. Sure, it's good information for individuals if they want to save a few bucks a year, but how the Hell are you going to ensure 200 million drivers have properly inflated tires. This is why the Left are so loony.
