Since the campaign tactics haven't changed, it's reasonable to assume that McCain has lowered his standards. My wife recently told me that she had received a piece of historical info from where I do not remember. She stated blithely (as historical fact) that since the Whigs were a party, Republicans have run by fostering fear, hate and anxiety. Ad hominum arguments are the preferred fuel of that engine. That is why John McCain is in Georgia. He's a skilled Republican, historically speaking. |
