Rustee says: A look back at their prediction versus the actuality. I just noticed in the first segment where they announced this prediction: the Winter Fuels Outlook Conference. NOAA should use better judgment than to boldly make predictions (subsequently false) that can have a direct impact on prices of vital needs. To be fair, I have the same issue with Dr. William Gray. Despite being a world renowned hurricane expert whose knowledge and experience is valued, due to the limits of long range forecasting, predictions for storm numbers can be way off. Given a credited dire prediction, an insurance company would surely weigh this in their raising their rates or even the availability of policies in coastal regions. Nice clipping. I'm interested to see the hurricane forecast. I have enjoyed the clipping the alarmist forecasts during the past 2 seasons and following the monthly downgrades that eventually lead to a below normal season. |
