Ethanol production is fine. Properly regulated.

Killing an ocean for the sake of increasing the production of bio-corn is not OK.

We need electric cars and, therefore, new sources of electricity (such as wind and solar). That is the key to becoming energy independent in my opinion.

The fuel crisis will hopefully fuel a rush to a better energy source. We have great minds and more people than ever are connected. Ideas propogate much easier now. Perhaps another major breakthru is on the horizon. Hopefully it will not create a new crisis in the future.
Whoever solves the problem will be immortalized.
