AtlLiberal says:
At its most basic, religion teaches a black/white view of reality. Good/bad, righteous/sinful, us/them, religious/atheist. And least we forget, heaven/hell. And make no mistake, punishment is a major component of the mix. In fact, it's sometimes difficult to keep up with all the smiting going on in their various holy books. Is it no wonder that a person who was evicted from an anger management class would be deeply influenced by the punishment aspects of religion?

Yes, we must assume responsibility for our actions but in the case of religion to be punished for eternity is not only irrational but arguably sadistic and insane.

the man should do a lot of time! I hope the hard cons in there beat him over the head with concrete.

In his defense he could say it was an exorcism or a faith healing. After killing their child, some of them get off on the ground of 'religious freedom'. Never mind the dead corpse of a once innocent child.

Or better, he could claim "he" was possessed by a holy spirit! Or better still, he could claim "religious free speech"... with a slab of concrete.

So, let's hope a few "chosen" of the prison population returns the favor.

It seems an awful lot of us don't love our kids very much. We seem to like them OK as long as they are extensions of our will and behaving like good, little, mindless bits of property. Many of us would prefer to see them dead rather than allowing them to grow into their own persons. Culturally, we are encouraged to do whatever it takes to remove (exorcise) any urges for creativity, thoughtfulness, independence, objectivity and awareness; much as was done to us. And so the cycle continues....

They call it tough love but it is nothing more than hatred and evil.
