Trust me, Chávez IS a threat, but I believe that anyone who consistently tells everyone what they want to hear HOW they want to hear it, amidst a sea of fumblers and abandonment (as in, the Bush administration has abandoned Latin America) and no one else offering ANYTHING, people like Chávez will continue to appear. Castro is on his way out for good, and well, Kim Jong Il is still himself. You want to help Venezuela? Make sure no idiot like Bush is EVER elected again.
