tabsey says: Space certainly keeps theorists busy. Wonder what would happen if they put those wonderful minds to conspiracy theories. Great clip! It's counterintuitive that one substance could be both a gravitational anchor for galaxies and anti-gravity force for the universe. What went wrong there?? Gawd, I forgot. It's Monday. Sorry. "Zhao compares this dark fluid to Earth's atmosphere. Atmospheric pressure causes air to expand, but part of the air can collapse to form clouds.", First when I read that 'dark fluid' phrase, my instant thought was that soon we would be back to the Turtle crawling across the sky, haha, but later it says fluid-like dark matter which sounds much more sensible than "A new theory says that dark matter and dark energy could arise from a single dark fluid that permeates the whole universe." because that dark fluid I can't see might as while be that fleet turtle I can't see. Well I find it amusing as fluid-like is a action property whereas a dark fluid is an substance property. Well now that I hav... I sort of visualised it like this. I imagined a drop of oil, representing the "ether" and mixed that with some tiny specks of ground pepper, representing the galaxies. Now drop that drop of oil on the surface of a pond, representing the vacuum. The oil will disperse and the pepper (galaxies) caught in it, will be carried along with it. (repr. expanding universe, dark energy) The viscosity or drag of the oil (ether) will though, keep them relatively "stuck" or enclosed in the oil "locally" (repr. the dark matter properties within the galaxies). The oil, the ether, can that way be seem to have both repelling, as well as locally attractive properties. I dunno. I have absolutely no idea what I... locally attractive propertiesBy that I mean, the stars etc, the pieces contained in the galaxy are "stuck" (or glued) together by the oil (ether) because of proximity, (gravitational pull, stickiness), but as a whole, as a galaxy, they are just a part of the expansion, the spreading of the oil over the surface of the pond. The pepper specks are too far away from each other on that scale for gravitational pull to matter and they "go with the flow". Should I lay off the weed? *LOL* thisnamecantbetaken said:No. <chuckle> *LOL* Thank you. Dark matter is probably just very little. They created Dark matter so their calculations would work, and all of the calculations are based on theories that may never be proved in these four dimensions. Why are things speeding up? As they get further apart maybe there is less holding them back, and thehave the same energy, but less size with respect to the rest of the universe. Newton and Einstein took great steps, but there is clearly more to it, and for us to have a clue, the whole concept of cosmic generation, will have to be reformatted. For instance Proton will repel proton, and electron will repel electron, and they aren't dark-Just hard to see. With Neutrons having the mass to bind. If... "Should I lay off the weed? *LOL*" See, now there we can illustrate this whole universe expansion attractive thingy. Now you mention the weed in order to expand understanding, but the pepper, I mean the police forces are attracted and are drawn to float over and contract your desire to expand. Hey, don't get paranoid, I'm just reminding anyone that the Internet is the oil that makes all this a practical possibility, i.e. not just gather info, but use it as well. New theory? Unites dark forces? With the rebel fleet? Hey, don't get paranoidI live in Western Europe, not the US or the likes, so no worries, buddy. We're not half as uptight about weed here. Your reminder about the "joys" of the surveillance society are very relevant though and it's always good advice to stay a little paranoid. Actually, this merging of matter and energy isn't exactly new. One of the principles of relativity is that matter and energy are really two aspects of the same thing. |
