I saw a whirling performance when I went on a desert safari from Dubai last month...it was beautiful....

Alan, they call it a safari, it consists of a whole lot of what is called 'dune bashing' in a giant SUV, followed by food/drinks & dancing (the main attraction is the belly dancer rather than the dervish fellows)...I have yet to understand why they decided to call it a safari lol

o, btw...it all takes place in the evening time, these days the climate is quite bearable so, it was quite ok
