I had downloaded Firefox 3 and that's when I had problems with the Clipmarks orange box and clipping. When I went back to the older version it worked fine. Hopefully with the official release, it can be resolved. I can't wait to try it out. But like others, I have extensions that have become part of my internet life. :~)

I was thinking of giving FF3 a try, but the developers of Flock said they would have a new version out based on FF3 some time this summer, so I will just wait.

I just tried out the Clipmarks extension for FF3 on RC2 and noticed that the Clipmarks toolbar tools are missing as well. Why would the extension be released to FF3 with this issue? Or could it be another extension causing havoc? Anybody else?

We're currently hard at work getting the Clipmarks Addon ready for the release of Firefox 3 next week.

Some changes made to Firefox when RC1 came out have caused a few issues with our addon that Derek is fixing right now, and we've got some new improvements coming as well

Oh, I hope you'd make it more quicker to clip, sometime there are more than few OKs to click, and I'd really hope to see the clip box show up in the tab instead of it's own window. My wishful list.

It's perfectly fine for me the way it is now. I'm sure, in time, that everyone's bugs will get worked out. Clipmarks is unlike anything I've seen on the web. You guys have done a great job.

I have wanted it to open in a new tab instead of a new window for a while. It would also be nice to skip that extra step after submitting a clip by adding those options during clip creation.

Another thing that kinda bugs me is sometimes when I clip highlighted text the highlight changes from blue to green and other times it is surrounded by green brackets. I prefer the highlight myself.

One last small complaint is that you are sent e-mails when someone who you are ignoring replies to a clip you are monitoring. That seems a little odd to me.

No major complaints though. I think Clipmarks is pretty great the way it is and could just use some tweaks here and there. So far I think a vast majority of changes have been for the best.

The major changes in the upcoming version are:

1. It will work in Firefox 3

2. The orange lines will do a MUCH better job of accurately surrounding the area to be clipped. As i'm sure most of you have noticed, the orange lines often extend way too far out to the left or right when you're trying to clip a paragraph. That won't happen anymore.

3. When you move your mouse between paragraphs, the orange lines won't jump to surround the entire article anymore. Though this may not be the biggest deal in the world, i've been using it and it makes for a much more pleasant and fluid clipping experience.

In addition to these changes, we're working on a big project that should be released a bit later in the summer. More details on that soon.

Just for your info....When I had the Firefox beta downloaded I could not clip selected portions. Only when the orange box was clicked was I able to clip anything and then only the entire section or paragraph. I hope this makes sense because I wanted to only clip certain portions of the article...not necessarily entire paragraphs.

Makes sense to me Jatfla. Only the orange box worked.

I nearly gave up on it entirely. If the original had large paragraphs, you might only get 600 words in and often there were no other paragraphs small enough to include below the 1,000 maximum. Producing a sensible clip under 1,000 word was impossible. The first criterion stopped being the content.

I did discover one new feature for me. Previously I needed to include some text to have an image clip. Now, using the orange box, I can clip an image without any text. If this feature remains in the future and clipping without the orange box returns then switching between the two would be best and another improvement.

I like clicking the image and it not counting towards the "limit".

Yes, any you can be much more selective in your choice of image where there is a long line of images.
