Paranoia of a wilting Empire....

Does the U.S. need to be the most powerful country? I say yes, because I live here.
Do we need military bases all over the world? No, we can't afford it and the rest of the world should not be our concern.
That's just my take.

Why not let our allies around the world train up and finance their own military forces.

Then what are you going to do with all the families of the unemployed soldiers ?
Build more refuges for the new homeless ?
Quite some vicious circle, don't you think?

We could stop taxing the bejeezus out of corporations (that usually gets passed on to us) so that we will have more industry for jobs in the U.S. Of course that would mean smaller government, which the government is against, but the money saved from protecting the world from itself (and aiding countries who are just going to hate us anyway for whatever reason) would more than even it out. FTW. That sounds simplistic, I know, but that's just the way I see it.
