I just read somewhere (how's that for a source?! ha) that dogs can sense time to within 30 seconds in a 24-hour period.

Perhaps they just miss you no matter how long you are gone. What a friendship!

Brimstone
George Carlin (a really great reference source hey mousie) in one of his stand ups says that dogs live in the time frame of forever. Like when you scratch a dogs head and you stop and it gives you that sad look, why did you stop, it thought that scratching was going to last for ever. Or when you leave the dog think you going to be gone forever, and when you return (even if its 5 mins) the dog think man I thought you where gone forever I so glad you back.

Right around the same time each day, about 10 minutes before I get home, my husband says the cat starts meowing and checking the door.

One of our cats follows Maskwirl around the tree all day like a lost puppy
