In another recent study, Dr Friederike Range, of the University of Vienna’s neurobiology department, said dogs felt jealous when unfairly treated compared with other dogs.

Dr Range, who's results will be published tomorrow, said: 'Dogs show a strong aversion to inequity'.

sensible dog! my dog expects treats for everything good she does, sometimes I cheat and give her half a treat but she knows as she always comes back and barks at me for the other half!!
