I think that one of the greatest injustices in the USA is the tenuous nature of employment. In some states you can be fired without any cause whatsoever.

Here is a story of man who is fired from his job simply because of who he married even though by all accounts he did a good job. Something completely outside of his employment became the cause for firing him. How is that just? How is that acceptable? Why aren't there laws that protect people from such capricious terminations?

Why do we not allow people who risk their capital taking huge chances to run a company not be allowed to hire and fire whom they wish? Why does this have to be "fair"? If this company's reputation is important and this individual's marriage choice jeopardizes this , why should he be forced to keep this employee? Where is his rights?

Gee jay -- the article in question is about a city government firing someone for no cause. Here there are constitutional guarantees that protect people, due process is something we value - it is an idea that you will be treated fairly and it does apply to employment with a governmental entity. As for your capitalist? Well, I think that we do have a strong desire in this country to treat people fairly and firing someone for no cause, a whim, is fundimentally unfair and unjust. Firing someone for marring a porn star may not be a whim, but taken in isolation it does appear unfair.
