I started this list on the 25 Feb 07, stopped an hour later, and have hardly looked at it since. There maybe some argument, and definitely more additions, but I was hoping that it may be interesting. Things Common to all living Humans. We are conscious We are all aware of our own existence We are Inhabitants of 1 Planet. We consist of Same Molecules,Made Of Atoms Of Various Chemical Elements We are Organic, Containing Carbon ,Nitrogen,Oxygen,Hydrogen Based Compounds We can all have the capacity to produce viable offspring Our Structure is encoded in D.N.A. which enables duplication of cells, and individuals We are all in the animal Kingdom We are all Primates We are the Same Species. We all... Part 2 You can't make someone believe something if they don't want to Our belief is conscious decision to commit to an assumption The assumption may be True or False, but it may not be within our capacity to prove or disprove We aspire to have the capacity and understanding to have our beliefs confirmed or rebutted We are all aware of Death Any conclusions involving death involve assumptions which are formulated according to the information available, and manifest themselves in our beliefs, our opinions and our actions We cannot comprehend Oblivion We are all aware of the passage of time We pass through each second only once We like it when people agree with us We can only be in one place at a time We all want to be loved Pokkets, I would really love to help you on your list but I need a guideline or two so I can stay on track. We are all surface-dwelling air breathing sexually reprodicing creatures of emotion and tradition. You can hear without listening. You can see without recognizing You can live without thriving. You can love without sex. You can want without asking. You can cry inside yourself. You can murder a concept. You can rescue a notion. You can believe a lie. You can be smart without wisdom. You can fly without moving. You can imagine without dreams. You can create without morality. You can believe without proof. You can be sick without dying. You can raise children without parenting. You can listen without comprehending. You can tire without exercise. You can speak and say nothing. You can have opinions without justification. You can wash and still be dirty. You can try without success. You can clip without commenting. That may be hard to specify, we all seem to be random variables. A Paradox. Dr Zeus looking after the left hand side of the Brain, With Mr Spock looking after the right. (I know it's Mr, but I'm sure he picked up a Phd somewhere, but he didn't believe in Vulcan boasting.) I know the list is fairly vague, but it seemed like a way of pointing out how trivial some of the differences we have are compared to the similarities, it might not say anything we don't know, but might start a few interesting conversations and discussions. However as they say it's the differences that make life interesting. I suppose everyone who made a list, would have a different list. Pokkets and Skwilinator: These are some very cool lists and ideas. Any of them would be a great focal point for looking for people to video. Thanks for the really positive spin...I think this Pangaea Day is an excellent idea.....all across the World.....so humbling. |
