POPS QuickTime flaw could go beyond MySpace

Secure Computing article on the virus which was spread on myspace through a hole in the program upgrade for Quicktime video players. Though a patch was created and passed out at Myspace unless the fix to the upgrade is distributed by quicktime other users and sites can be at the same type of risk. As Apple is aware of the issue, and worked on fixing the patch it is likely that they may have already made it available at their site. However, if people don't know they need a patch, they could be equally vulnerable to phishing attacks using "fake browser windows using the quicktime player to collect passwords. I recieved my copy of the patch through Myspace. The source link will not work . To get your code or to sign onto the map go to http://www.frappr.com/clipmarks which is the first map page for the clipmarks group.You can also get the codes for the clipmaks slide. The codes didn't follow through in the clipping process.. Widgets can be put wherever you like. In some cases they did not close off the embeds so you have to add that if your site desn't accept the code . "div" enclosures have been added to the codes at frappr. I have maps on myspace pages like http://www.myspace.com/123codetesting You will see that you can put multiple maps and slideshows on a single page. Mind you, that this sample page is at myspace which is built around a template and has far less freedom for object placement that you may have at your own websites. Wow... this is how MIS is going to compete with Firefox? Offering add-ons that cost $15, $50, $99!?! I didn't look at everything here, but that's my initial impression. Most add-ons come with a hefty price tag. Yikes.
