POPSClipmarks - Archived Home Page Oct 1,2005 - the Way Back Machine Much discussion has taken place over the actual goals of clipmarks. I think this earlier version of the site states the mission well. Sometimes all the cute little updates and upgrades overshadow the power of a simle statement. So having found this home page version archived in the "Way back Machine" I thought I'd clip it. Of course since I cclipped most of the page that doesn't really work well with the mission. but it did seem like a good way to show ti to fellow clipmarks users

POPSSee Comment for how to find your Tag Cloud To add a tag to your tag cloud, you have to actually use the tag on one of your own clips. Your tag cloud is different from everyone else's. On your page under top tags (which are your tags, and not all of clipmarks tags) at the very bottom of the list is the tag cloud link. That will bring up a whole page for your tags. The largest being the tag you use the most. the smallest would be the ones you have only used one time. After seeing a discussion about where is the tag cloud, thought I'd clip this in case those who were in the discussion didn't go back to check the comments yet. - I hope this helps a little. example for the link is http://clipmarks.com/tag_cloud.aspx?u=123clipmarks replace "123clipmarks" with your user id and you can actually use the link to give your tag cloud address to your friends or contacts.

POPSAdding the Clipmarks Group Map & slideshow at frappr to your websites
The source link will not work . To get your code or to sign onto the map go to http://www.frappr.com/clipmarks which is the first map page for the clipmarks group.You can also get the codes for the clipmaks slide. The codes didn't follow through in the clipping process.. Widgets can be put wherever you like. In some cases they did not close off the embeds so you have to add that if your site desn't accept the code . "div" enclosures have been added to the codes at frappr. I have maps on myspace pages like http://www.myspace.com/123codetesting You will see that you can put multiple maps and slideshows on a single page. Mind you, that this sample page is at myspace which is built around a template and has far less freedom for object placement that you may have at your own websites. POPSNew profile information added for 123clipmarks When doing the about me section it just made more sense to put links to all the places I already answered those questions. And so I put as many links that would fit to my personal pages, blogs, and websites. I apologize for any I didn't tell you about. I just plumb ran out of room. I have been a member of Clipmarks since June 2, 2006. I have been on line since November 17, 2005. I hope to make a contribution while I am online. Next year I may be more of an Internet user than a contributor as I focus more on my particular life goals. I don't mean to be rude to anyone, but I am a tad bit busy. I do return mail to those who severely impress me or need to be severely stopped. If you fit the the middle I apologize for my cramped schedule. If you send me mail in Chinese I will delete it immediately. If you send me spam you will be spammed. If you want email from me you must be the one to "request it" unless you have severely impressed me already.

POPSTag Power - The Value of your comments - where it shows up on a normal Feed By making a comment at the time you submit your clipmark, the feed will show your comment shows in front of the article or page that you clipped. When someone subscribes or accidentally finds in a totally different type of search, your reputation may be reevaluated by the type of comments you initially leave. Though there are some great humorous threads at clipmarks, one may consider beginning the humor as a 2nd comment, as that does not always show up at the beginning of the feed. Some submissions go out as an entire clipped segment. Some readers may not relink to the site you originally clipped because these feeds come back to clickmarks as the source. Consider leaving a link to the site with the article also in the comment section with a simple copy & paste. If your goal is to get then to go to clickmarks first, don't leave the redundant link. Remember, the more valid links, the higher the rating. Also If you link to sites with broken links it lowers your rating.123clipmarks

POPSTag power: For those with RSS feed Readers -This shows up as Google search result Tag Power: This actually showed up as a Google result for The String Tributer, since download was a valid tag because you could download songs from his player after listening to them. The cataloguing service that captured these was searching for "downloads" whenever the common tag has enough frequent submissions from a common site it is sub categorized. For instance downloads+clipmarks is the natural grouping that the engine made in this case. Each time a new category group is recorded as an active feed line, your site increases rank by value. If you go to the source link you can see the settings submmited by the user that catalogued this feed. Pretty cool. 123clickmarks aka debraford123

POPSSite Map - Neat way to slip Clipmarks into any website Tag Power: By saving this to html you have all the code you need to put a neat Clipmarks sitemap link into your personal website. You will be suddenly cool, because, you can send all your visitors to a site they really won't mind going. If you want to be less obvious don't use the logo just type Clipmarks right before the link sitemap. POPSSelf Moderation of clippers/comments Someone mentioned moderators for clipmarks, which aren't a bad idea considering some of the comments (including my own), but I thought that perhaps allowing users to mark a clipper to be excluded from their displays, with ability to eliminate all of their clipmarks and/or their comments from others' clipmarks. That would give the ultimate control as to what content to read (and as importantly what not to read). Theoretically one can always ignore some clippers, but having them eliminated would make the display less cluttered and more meaningful.

POPSclipmarks truck spotted! The clipmarks truck was seen making it's way to the Rhino Awards. It's been rumored that the truck got lost on the way to the show and ended up at a nightclub in Vegas.
