POPSReid Surrenders, Betraying the Voters "Democrats said they did not relish the prospect of leaving Washington for a Memorial Day break — the second recess since the financing fight began — and leaving themselves vulnerable to White House attacks that they were again on vacation while the troops were wanting. That criticism seemed more politically threatening to them than the anger Democrats knew they would draw from the left by bowing to Mr. Bush." Scared of being called names by a man who lacks ethics? They fear Bush more than they fear losing support from the people who put them into office. Tsk, tsk... who do you represent?

POPSIncorrigible and Defiant As Ever Bush acts as if it's an insult to have his appointed officials testify "under oath" even though they've proven time and time again that their words cannot be trusted. If they can't be trusted to tell the truth while not under oath, they should be compelled to do so under oath in public while being taped, and a transcript of their testimony should be made available. It is the only means of holding liars accountable and responsible for their misleading statements to Congress. If they intend to tell the truth, why is Bush opposed to them testifying while under oath?

POPSIraq: Sinking Confidence It doesn't take a genius to come up with this conclusion... some of us, including Yours Truly, figured this out long before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. Trillions in debt racked up, thousands of deaths, many more thousands of lives torn apart... what did they expect? Oh, yeah, now I remember... candy and flowers and to be greeted as "liberators". It's long past time to get out of Iraq and stop feeding these delusional profiteering parasites. Push for criminal investigations, indictments, and prison sentences for the guilty ones. We owe at least that much to those who have suffered as a result of the actions of the Idiocracy.
