I made this in a couple of minutes using Sqirlz Morph. There's a video of the transition at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=remJe3moT3k

This is old news, but I'm re-discovering great headlines on the BBC. This is a last one though, I promise.

Photos from my cousin's wedding
Algernon
by Algernon  12-4-2006
I tend to be bored by the 'normal' wedding photography opportunities, such as the signing of the reguster and the cutting of the cake. I finally managed to get some decent photos of my younger brother at the last family wedding.

Monome 40h - reconfigurable grid of sixty-four backlit buttons
Algernon
by Algernon  12-1-2006
The monome 40h is 'just' a beautiful reconfigurable grid of sixty-four backlit buttons. It can act as an input to a number of (free, open source) applications, some especially created for sampling and sequencing, or can control midi applications. There are Java libraries and everything. I own one, and can't get enough of it.

Reaper - application for multitrack audio recording and editing

by Algernon  12-1-2006
From Justin Frankel (the maker of Winamp, Jesusonic and Ninjam) comes a powerful Windows app for multitrack recording and editing. Supports VSTi plugins, ReWire, etc. It's only $40 for personal use ($200 for commercial).

Roo Reynolds, Metaverse Evangelist
Torley

I like job titles that make you do a double-take. I recently spotted this in the Beeb online. These types of articles are becoming more common; I can't imagine it's too long before the novelty wears off and they become ubiquitously meshed yet valuable, like what Steve Jobs thinks of Levi jeans. ;) From an insider perspective (I work for Linden Lab), I should note how dapper Roo aka Algernon looks, and how unique his head is shaped: you'll often not find prominent eyebrows like that in Second Life, especially paired with big blue eyes and a teardrop-shaped head not unlike that of a classic Gray alien. Lots of room for avatar customization, that's for sure.
