Retrofitting houses seems to be a great option, although the housing market will have to turn around first before people invest more money in their homes.

POPSIn defense of teasing? An interesting article that illustrates how teasing allows people to form more complex, intimate relationships through teasing. As an expert teaser myself, I think it's interesting to think how this social skill can be used for good, or for evil. Keltner's conclusion is this: "In seeking to protect our children from bullying and aggression, we risk depriving them of a most remarkable form of social exchange. In teasing, we learn to use our voices, bodies and faces, and to read those of others — the raw materials of emotional intelligence and the moral imagination."

POPSKenyans' High Hopes for Obama This article from The Standard, a major newspaper in Kenya, shows that some Kenyans feel like Obama has made "promises" to help them and that he will make African (Kenyan) development and aid a high priority. Kenyans are going to have to wait in line, though, behind the American people.
