POPSPolling Funnies Pay attention to the details, note trends within polls rather than aggregating disparate poll reports, and never forget that every media outlet is selling a story, and every poll is bought by someone for a specific purpose. The election is something far different from any poll

POPSThe Obama Sell Off I know that the reason I moved everything I had out of the markets is that if Obama gets in he's going to destroy a minimum of 1/7th of the economy with his medical idiocy. He's also going to destroy investment with his tax increases and who can tell where the next huge failure will come from with that kind of uncertainty. Better to sit on the sidelines and see what happens than try to guess exactly what the Democrats might destroy next.

POPSGetting You To Eat Crap So, you can see how some people might think, “Well, maybe I should try this crap instead of cheeseburger today. Maybe I’m just missing something.” Still, despite all the media attempts to confuse people, at the end of the day most people are going to say, “That’s crap and that’s a cheeseburger. I don’t eat crap; I eat cheeseburgers.” And that’s why Republicans win. Well… in other election years.

POPSCharge for Rape Kits - Another Lie Another one hits the dust. The Democrats must rue the day that Algore invented that intertube thingy and then allowed people who actually cared about the truth to use it.

POPSNew Legal Argument The father-son relationship? Aside from the genetic one - this seems to be put forward as some sort of legal argument for confidentiality. Always good to know that the Democrats can be counted on for new thinking when it comes to hiding things.

POPSDemocrats To Commuters - Ride a Bike for 20 Bucks yes - here's the solution to our energy problems. Giving 20 dollar per month per employee tax deductions to businesses. Of course, they are frantically working to make sure that we can't drill for oil precisely where we KNOW it is - because that might actually make sense apparently. But your legs might be worth a double sawbuck to your employers. Not to you of course - the tax benefit will go to your employer. Just one other question - are we now going to have bike tax police to monitor the tax returns of business who claim this deduction to verify that the employees are truly humping themselves into the office? When will the first bike tax deduction scofflaw be hauled before the authorities? Lots of employment benefits here.

POPSDown the Liberal Memory Hole A complete two-fer. Here's Democrats stirring up racial hatred and fears (just who's bringing up race?) as well as the media deciding to take out the explicit reference to Republicans by massaging the quote.

POPSAstroturfing and a classic example: As a Republican and strong McCain supporter in 2000, I was disappointed and saddened in 2004 when McCain permanently traded in his maverick credentials and sold out his principles to support George W. Bush. I now find it equally disturbing to see him gamble our security and future with a reckless choice for a running mate. McCain and Palin quickly emerged from the rhetoric of their convention as the uniters of dividers. I talk politics with a lot of people from all walks of life. I find it compelling that many of the ordinary Republicans I talk to understand that their families cannot afford another four years like the last eight. We all deserve better. Tarsa is chairman of the Lebanon County Democratic Committee." Apparently party lines run right through Christopher Tarsa.

POPSLeft Comprehension Gap At the root of this curious gulf of ignorance has always been the fact that the left is unable to understand that conservatives keenly understand them and the alleged rationales behind their policies. We know they think government needs an active role in social justice, that civic and free market mechanisms like business, church, and charity are insufficient to deal with poverty, urban decay, and the social pathologies that foster them. They think that in order to foster social progress, the state needs to assume active advocacy roles on a limitless range of issues. We understand. We may utterly disagree and denounce it to hell, but we understand. When conservatives see liberals, they see the proponents of bad, inefficient, and eminently corruptible state and social systems that with eye-watering predictability, corrupt those who administer them and harm their alleged beneficiaries. Often for generations.

POPSInstant Hate The simple fact of her being a pro-life married mother of five with a thriving political career was--before anything else about her was known--enough for the left and its outliers to target her for destruction. She could not be allowed to contradict symbolically one of the central narratives of the left. How galling it will be to Sarah Palin's many new enemies if she survives this assault and prevails. If she does, her success may be an important moment in the struggle to shape not just America's politics but its culture.

POPSMemo to President Obama 2010 Politically, we have not seen the benefits of a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. It seems that every Democratic Senator has decided that if you could become President they could too. Considering that they are all more qualified than you, all of them are now also running for President - with the exception of Senator Schumer, who seems to be running for the position of God. He believes that is his appropriate pay grade, since no one else has it.
1
POPSTwo Front Battles Make no mistake about it. With the single exception of the Surge McCain's entire history as a Senator consists of picking the issues upon which a defeat would do the GOP and the nation the maximum amount of harm and cooperating with Democrats to make that Republican defeat happen.

POPSFree Speech in Hawaii? Now imagine the weeping and wailing and knashing of teeth if the Bush Administration were doing this. Why no outcry? Well its Hawaiian Natives and Democrats and such.
2
POPSSenate Moves Forward on Telecom Immunity The trial lawyers continue to weep at the lost fees they would get from suing these companies into bankruptcy. Which is why the Democrats are trying to prevent immunity from happening of course.
5
POPSDemocrats in Denial We are not arguing that one had to agree with the surge or the Bush decision to go into Iraq. Dissent is a deep tradition in U.S. politics, and this war has become a bitter subject. It is evident, though, that the opposition to Iraq after the Democrats won control of Congress in 2006 has put these candidates in a corner. For the past year, Democrats in both the Senate and House have enforced rock-solid party opposition to every jot and tittle of the Bush policy. They now have four candidates running for the U.S. Presidency who seem to believe it is to their political advantage to deny manifest reality.
3
POPSObama and the Childish Left The less you know the better you feel, because Obama is a projective figure, a human Rorshach test. The Dems don't want to know any sobering facts. They don't want to know, for example, his relationship with the Chicago Democrat machine. They don't want to know that he voted against saving the lives of infants who survive a botched abortion. They don't want to see his minimal competence in foreign affairs. Hillary's fall from grace has been amazingly quick, because the Dems -- the Party of the Needy, those who Crave to be Cared For, the Emotional Victims -- they have all found a new fuzzy toy to cling to. Hillary Clinton is now yesterday's toy, lying discarded on the floor. And she knows it.

POPSPicture ID to Vote Its a very deliberate effort to make sure that the deceased and the illegal immigrants get their "vote".
4
POPSGuess the Party Affiliation Any guesses as to what the headline would be if the "other party" were actually involved? Something like "Racist GOP Senator Insults Black Mothers"

POPSJubliation as SAT Scores Fall Home Schoolers will soon be the only people who can think enough to run the country. They already win all the national contests that require hard work - like spelling, geography and math.
