De cursussen hebben wel een veel kleinere omvang dan de gewone cursussen van de Open Universiteit Nederland. Om een indicatie van de omvang te geven: een gewone cursus van de Open Universiteit Nederland, die onderdeel is van een wetenschappelijke opleiding, heeft meestal 100 studiebelastingsuren (SBU). De omvang van de gratis cursussen op deze website is wisselend; van 4 tot 25 SBU. De meeste cursussen zullen een omvang hebben van 25 SBU.
