First it was Vanity Fair such an INNOCENT pictorial like so many here seemed to think and next thing you know here comes Hef huffin and puffin trying to blow the door down and get Miley to pose nude for his magazine. Very pretty lady Hef said. Beautiful girls do not have to pose naked for some porn mag. DON'T DO IT MILEY have some self-respect.

Even Dems Do not want another Clinton in the White House
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  5-8-2008    13
It would appear to a casual observer that the Democrats had decided on a nominee long before the election process got started. Changing state primaries to an earlier date to get Obama off to a quick start and disallowing two major states like Florida and Michigan seems to me to be an attempt to rig an election. The whole democrat process of nominating a candidate seems to me to be a bit shady. Super delegates are there to do just that DECIDE on a candidate regardless of the voters wishes. Wasn't it the Democrats who in 2000 were crying about ALL VOTES counting in Florida? And now the same people are crying that Florida votes do not count? Does this mean Obama would be an illegitimate candidate? After all he does not have enough delegates to have actually won, therefore someone is going to MAKE him win. Me thinks Ms Pelosi wants to be the Big Mamma in charge. Perhaps there is not enough room in the democrat kitchen for 2 women. What say you?

The American People are the Problem

There is no doubt that when a first term senator, without a credible achievement, who proved himself incompetent at the mere act of casting a vote as a State Senator, who is the most Leftist member of the Senate and all of Congress, who talks about sacrifice while giving 1% of his windfall salary to charity, who will not talk about his record, agenda, or be "distracted" by questions of his intended policies, who has befriended a terrorist and racist preacher, who has a wife that says there is a "veil of impossibility" in America ( She went to Yale, remember), who is an adherent of Black Lib (marxist) Theology, who never worked in Business or Industry, never managed a company, and never served his country. A man who whips his naive supporters up using tactics, imagery, and organic unity not seen since the early 1930's. The American People are in fact the problem when this is the man that one of the major parties in the US seems to believe is fit to be President of the U.S.

How Government Regulation effects oil prices at the pump
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  5-7-2008
As is usually the case with government intervention into private enterprise the unexpected results are usually far worse than the original problem congress set out to solve. Doesn't anybody study history anymore? It was not that long ago that the same ideas were floating around congress during the Carter years. Anyone remember the odd even gas days and the long lines at the pumps because of the government forced oil shortages of the 70's Among other mistakes from that period, the government increased the taxes levied on domestic oil producers, as if that would somehow help. The result was “reduced domestic oil production from between 3 and 6 percent, and increased oil imports from between 8 and 16 percent.” The government also instituted price controls, which only served to create the notorious gas shortages of that era. Yes, price controls meant consumers could get cheaper gas — but only after waiting in long gas lines and only if stations didn’t run out first.

Higher Learning earns a BS degree.

by Eaglewings  5-2-2008
The stifling effect of racism and sexism allegations has led some to extremes. Richard Peltz, an award-winning law professor at the University of Arkansas, felt trapped by accusations of racism. Peltz had alienated some of his black students in the following fashion: 1) he participated in a panel discussion on affirmative action and argued against it, 2) he displayed in class a satirical article from The Onion that mentioned, among other things, Rosa Parks’s death 3) he illustrated the unfairness of affirmative action policies by offering to give all minority students an extra point on a test just for signing a form. It would appear that learning has been reduced to indoctrinating students into a pre-set ideologies. Any deviation from the PRACTICED NORM is met with opposition. I thought learning was best nurtured in an environment that did not stifle alternative viewpoints but actually encouraged such. Apparently only alternative thoughts are welcomed sound reaso

Pittsburgh number 1 in nation for dirty air
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  5-2-2008
When I first came to Pittsburgh many years ago on a business trip I immediately did not like the area. My initial thought was WOW this city is dirty. It looked dirty. From the rusty bridges to the dirty streets and the dilapidated housing the whole area surrounding the city just looked dirty. Well now many years later we get this report that well says PITTSBURGH is dirty. I have lived in Western Pennsylvania for almost 10 years now. Perhaps this report explains my increased allegy problems since moving out here. I guess it is time to move again. In regards to the report one news person said that Pittsburgh has not gotten dirtier LA just got cleaner. Isn't that nice? Why doesn't Pittsburgh get cleaner? Why not work on it a bit? Concerning the coke plant in the valley. OKAY why build a plant that pollutes in a valley where the air gets trapped? Years ago Pittsburgh was the steel capital of the world and yes it was dirtier then. But there is more Pittsburgh can do to improve.

Washington Post misrepresents reasons for food cost rising.
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  5-1-2008
Truth be damned! Once again our biased media can not get the facts right concerning a topic as important as the rapid increase in food costs. The Post blames it on everything from global warming to less crop production none of which is proven by the actual facts. In fact the biggest contributor to the rapid increase in world food prices may just be the 40% increase in the fuel costs to produce and transport the food products around the world. All other indicators would seem to indicate that a drop in food prices would be in order. However it is costing the farmers more to produce and ship the product thus adding to the bottom line, (the price charged at the actual consumer). I believe if they were to admit that fact they would also have to admit that the more you tax an operation the MORE it will cost the consumer in the end. I know they do not want to state that.

Shame on you Vanity Fair magazine. Double shame on Miley Cirus and triple shame on her parents. According to Vanity Fair magazine Miley's parents were present during this photo shoot. Now I ask you what is really artistic about a 15 yr old young lady topless covered only with a bed sheet? You mean to tell me this was the only thing ARTISTIC you could find to depict this young lady? Wasn't there a far more wholesome way to showcase your daughter Billy Ray then having her likeness plastered on millions of copies of a magazine TOPLESS? I do not wish to be too hard on Miley after all she is only 15 yrs old and I am sure handling more than most adults have to deal with in a life time at a very formidable age. The adults involved however ought to know better. Vanity Fair is fast becoming a sleaze mag like so many others cluttering up the store shelves. Yes MILEY you were duped like so many young ladies in our society have been by manipulative predators. Anytime anyone asks you

Ancients and modern evolutionists still pondering the same questions.
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  4-29-2008
It would appear that for over 1500 years the debate has raged over the origin of life. Natural Theology, published in 1802 by William Paley, discussed the evidence for design using the "inferred watchmaker" analogy. The majority of scientists at that time professed belief in a Creator, in one way or another. This was reflected in their studies. To some extent, design was assumed. Evolution lacked a reasonable engine to drive biological change. When Charles Darwin published "The Origin of Species" in 1859, those who preferred evolution had a seemingly plausible mechanism to explain it - natural selection. Almost 150 years later, the scientific community at large speaks of the "facts" of evolution. Those who propose non-natural causes for biologic effects are soon branded as "ignorant," "superstitious," or "closed-minded." Some things never change...

BIOFUELS – A MAN MADE DISASTER
merrie
by merrie  4-27-2008
BIOFUEL DISASTER_THANK CONGRESS AND GREENIES! Contrary to popular belief, the production of biofuels is extremely unfriendly to the environment. The increased use of fertilizer needed in the growing corn crop has resulted in additional soil and water pollution. The National Academy of Sciences recently reported that the 15% food to fuel mandate will increase the size of the Gulf of Mexico dead zone by 10 to 19% as a result of water pollution caused by fertilizer runoff. The production of ethanol requires copious amounts of water, thereby draining local water tables. Congress never learns. Manipulating the market with subsidies and taxation can have disastrous, deadly results. If ethanol is such a great product, then it will thrive in the free market. How many people will have to starve before Congress and the do-gooder environmentalist lobby admit that our biofuel policy is a complete disaster and a potential threat to our economy and global stability.

Some may not care if a leader of our country spouts off made-up biblical utterances but to me this just shows the dire dirth of knowledge present on capital hill. They call them misstatements but in reality they are lies plain and simple. No attempt is made by these 'leaders' to search out truth they just continually spout out falsehoods after falsehoods and the American people seem to just give them a pass. I am not the smartest bird in the nest but this eagle can spot a doo doo bird simply enough. No wonder they became extinct. Perhaps we should send some of these congresspersons the way of the doo doo bird into oblivion.

Broken Homes breaking the economic bank
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  4-20-2008    2
Perhaps we are not willing to look at the real cost of broken homes. Being a product of a broken home myself I can personally state the high price I had to pay as a result of being raised in a fatherless home. The emotional scars and damage caused by the harmful effects of a parent leaving were hard to overcome. I am unable to calculate the actual financial cost the broken home had on myself but I can say for a surety that it certainly had an ill effect on it. Now I am not saying to anyone to stay in a dangerous relationship but too many marriages are destroyed for no other reason then selfishness and unforgiveness. It is no better for the Christian home than it is for the non-Christian household it would appear. Perhaps we need to spend more time and energy on making ourselves better spouses than trying to fix our 'better half'?

citing a qualified source is a good way to emphasize a legitimate idea. But you should consider whether or not the source being cited is really qualified to make judgments about a particular issue. 5. PLAIN FOLKS The “Plain Folks” technique is at work whenever a speaker promotes the idea that he or she is “of the people,” just an Average Joe despite the fact that he or she may go home to a mansion at the end of the day. 6. CARD STACKING “Stacking the deck” is a gimmick used by magicians where a deck of cards appears to be randomly shuffled but is in fact arranged in a specific way. The IPA borrowed the term to describe a technique where only one side of a topic is favored, or another side is ignored or played down. 7. BANDWAGON The idea behind the Bandwagon technique is that, since everyone else is doing it, so too should you.

Art should be judged for its artistic merit not its content if you ask me. I think the drawing is very well done. Not being an artist myself I appreciate those who have that ability. Forcing a student to draw subjects that may not be acceptable to them to me is a far worse offense then the student drawing a picture that MAY or may not offend someone else. Art like music is a creation of the artist and should therefore be considered in light of the artists perspective and not from the perspective of the audience. At least that is what the defenders of porn use as a defense when promoting pornography and other offensive works of art. They say it is CREATIVE LICENSE. Well then this young person has the creative license as well. IMO

Number three on the New York Times best seller list does not surprise me. People would much rather believe all these convoluted offerings rather than the truth that a loving God actually cared enough about our pitiful selfs that He sent His only Son to die so that we might live. Now I do not know about you but my best intentions has never led me anywhere but to despair. No matter how hard I tried I could never measure up to be GOOD enough by the so called enlightened crowd so I guess I would be doomed to forever live in despair save for the Lord Jesus Christ who came into my life and rescued me from my despair. Now I know who I belong to and therefore I am no longer looking to the enlightened crowd for my self worth. Perhaps Chopra and all his adherents would be better served to read the 'Good Book'.
