Google China issue: an apartheid era reminder
    Geekette
    by Geekette  6-7-2006
Don't it just remind you of the days of apartheid when for a long time, the US & the UK amongst others refused to impose sanctions on South Africa based on a strong advocacy of "free trade"? Oh, good times, good times... Well check it, we got a rerun going on now! Tune in and you can catch this episode because it promises to be long too! Different times, but same underlying ugliness: Google, Yahoo, et al are all hiding under the banner of “obeying the law” while ignoring human rights violations, censorship, etc. in exchange for a slice of that juicy market to further fatten their coffers.
