China has already been burned badly with its Blackstone and Morgan Stanley investments. But with the Big Macs and Maes, it's still the same old problem, the Chinese loaned them money which they can't pay back, however, much both sides want pretend that one day they can.
Can the Federal Reserve go bankrupt? How much gold can Fort Knox hold. Surely it can't cover all this debt? What other assets does it have? The US taxpayers who is also in excess debt and might find it impossible to pay their taxes.
The supermarket business model which relies on making profits from 'adding value for the consumer' with ready made, convenience foods is ill-suited to times of high food inflation, when people are more likely to cook and grow their own.
