POPSMammatus clouds These are supposedly one of the rarest natural formation of clouds, formed when the air is saturated with rain droplets and/or ice crystals and begins to sink.

POPSBlue jay (Cyanocitta cristata) When I was living in the States (I lived in Atlanta, and was born in Madison, Wisconsin), I remember that whenever I saw a blue jay, I was pretty sure the rest of the day was going to be pretty swell. They have this combination of quiet, dignified beauty and sassy pertsonality that I find irresistible. I immediately put this as wallpaper.

POPSImpact An amazing shot of an osprey grabbing a fish. This has to be one of my top five best pictures I've ever seen.

POPSPhone sheep Now you know what to do with those old disc-phones you haven't thrown away. :-)

POPSScarlet Tanager (II) This has to be one of the most perfect photographs of a male Scarlet Tanager I've ever seen. I wish I'd have one of a wild Troupial (Venezuela's national bird) as comparable. I love it.

POPSPalemale flying to the nest Maybe New Yorkers will recognize this fellow. This is Palemale, a red-tailed hawk that is a regular nester in Central Park along with his mate, Lola. What a magnificent bird. I'll keep an eye out for him next time I'm at the Big Apple.

POPSSick humor Some people have too much time in their hands. And some are thankful for them.

POPSRainbow lorikeet Spectacularly colored lorikeets from Australia. I've noticed that most of my clippings are pictures of birds. But who can blame me? Birds are nature's color palette.

POPSScarlet Tanager North American birds don't get much more beautiful than this. Absolutely spectacular.

POPSLittle Owl I love owls. There's something so comical combined with seriousnesss about them. They rank third in my favorite bird list, after parrots and penguins.

POPSAAww for the day A dog and ferret quietly napping together. In case you haven't got your "Aaaaw" already today. :-)
