POPSkids space A Brief History Kids' Space was launched in March of 1995 as a personal home page at Interport Communications. The first participants were from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong. Later that year, Japanese pages were created by readers from Japan. In 1996, the site was separated into three main sections including one for creative activities, another for communication, and a section for learning basic computer skills. Hop Pop Town was added for InternetExpo 96. The next year these three sections were split into two sites along with a help Section: * International Kids' Space for creative activities; * Kids' Space Connection for communication activities, such as penpals; * and the Guide Bear's Tour as a tool for using both sites and teaching about technology.
