POPSAwareness Mankind always strives to become more than he is, some using the Creator to gain influence over others, while others allowing the Creator to guide them for what they seek. As long as some use the Creator for self gain, mankind will never live in harmony as one. Cougar

POPSVision's Visions are not common, some never have them no matter how much they wish for them, some visions can be easy to intemperate, while others take time. Myself, I am still working on my vision from 1996, very hard to understand some of it. Cougar

POPSNature's University In this day and age, man can never learn life, the majority of man lives in a concrete jungle, with most living a life without ever leaving the jungle they grew up in. Cougar

POPSReligion We all know of good and evil, the Indigenous Peoples believe in a Creator who placed us here to look after our mother the earth, so why is it that the others use religion for self gain or for destruction of other who do not believe in God, as they do? Puzzling? Not really, the Indigenous People believe we are here not for our selves, but for our children and their children, to care for Mother Earth, to live in harmony with all things and all peoples, we are still wondering what the others were put here for? POPSThink I grow increasingly worried about man and his thoughts! When reading or watching the world as it is today, we can see what man has on his mind and unfortunately it is not the good, but the evil in mans mind that is winning. We see the continual search for the better weapons in which to kill each other, the growing hunger and killing of our children, the continuing raping of Mother Earth, with no respite in the future. We must look to our Grandfathers for guidance, however for the People of the Earth and I speak of the Indigenous Peoples who at one time lived and breathed the life of Mother Earth, it will be easier, not so for the others who live for greed with every waking breath. The destruction of man will come from within, so pray to the Great Spirit that the others will come to respect and seek the guidance of our Earth Mother and that of the People of the Earth, before it is to late. POPSYou have wandered I am one of those people who never grew up with the teachings of my ancestors, it was only later in life that I found my true identity, but I am still learning the path, with each day I learn more and more, but find I am still lacking. Creator, please guide me on my true path. Cougar

POPSSharing "INDIAN" This word is insulting, we are not Indians, Indians are from India, Christopher Columbus put this label on the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas because he didn't know where he was. So why should we live with a lable that is not our's. Sharing is part of our culture, as Indigenous people, it comes naturally to those who follow the Red Path. Cougar

POPSHaida Gwaii, Traditional Circle of Elders Grandfather, help me learn these important values; Trust, Respect and Honor. "Parents have to demonstrate the value of trust, respect and honor." In todays society it is very hard to demonstrate these values, when our leaders show they have no Trust, Respect or Honor. Cougar

POPSTecumseh, Shawnee Creator, let my decisions have the strength of the bundle. "Hear me! A single twig breaks, but the bundle of twigs is strong." One of the hardest things I have ever tried to do was to unite Native Tribe's. For a few years I worked with 15 different Hereditary Chiefs and Headmen, and I found that when dealing with the Federal Government of Canada, they listened to what was being said to them. This would never happen with one Chief or with Elected Chiefs and Councils under the Indian Act. This is a proven fact. One Hereditary Chief has written to the Government and even over a year had not heard from them. I wrote one letter and received an answer before a week, it was amazing what the power of unity could do. In the past year I have seen some of that unity with the Aboriginal Peoples of Canada, but this is still not enough, there are some many out there who are still under the thumb of the Colonial Government, held there by greed a learned thing from when the Government

POPSOren R. Lyons, Spokesman, Traditional Circle of Elders Grandfather, Grandmother, bring the spirits to teach us. "Male and female is fundamental to life; partners in work to be done." We have lost our way in regards to this truth. Our culture taught us this simple wisdom, the destruction of our cultures has taken this away, we must return to our cultures to regain this knowledge and treat each other with the respect we have lost. Cougar

POPSHaida Gwaii, Traditional Circle of Elders Great Spirit, let me accept and see all things as equals. "People are equal partners with the plants and animals, not their masters who exploit them." The Great Spirit has placed everything on earth that man, animal and plants would ever need to survive, it is only man that takes more than he needs, most time giving nothing back to the earth. The animals and plants have been exploited by man for hundreds of years, I would say thousands, but that would be inaccurate. The white man has corrupted and devastated the First Peoples of this world so much in the past (600) six hundred years, that even the majority of them have lost their understanding of this world. We as human beings must reach out to our Elders and regain the knowledge and understanding our ancestors had towards this world, as caretakers, not destroyers. Cougar

POPSTraditional Circle of Elders, Northern Cheyenne Creator, whisper what You want me to do. "Come forward and join hands with us in this great work for the Creator." Have you spoke to the Great Spirit? Can you speak to the Great Spirit? All can speak to the Great Spirit and if you really listen to him, take his guidance, he will open you heart and mind to untold riches of great healing. Cougar

POPSBlack Elk (Hehaka Sapa) Oglala Sioux Creator, help me find peace. "Peace...comes within the souls of man when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its power, and when they realize that the center of the Universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us." POPSHaida Gwaii, Traditional Circle of Elders Great Teacher, help me to understand Your principals. "In order for our children to survive in the world, they need a firm understanding and belief in the basic principles of sharing, freedom, and respect of individuality." To many in this world have this opinion of them selfs as better than everyone around them, those who believe that what they acquire in life makes them what they are, when only what you have done for others is the true definition of a man. Your children will look to you for guidance, if you do the later, your children will do well in their life. Cougar

POPSTraditional Circle of Elders, Navajo-Hopi, Joint Use Area Great Spirit, teach me Your Laws, so I may others that follow. "The Natural Law will prevail regardless of man-made laws, tribunals and governments." The Great Spirit taught us to follow the Natural Law, to live in peace and harmony, to never take more than you need from this earth, to share what you have with others, to honor the land, he did not write these laws on stone slabs, but placed them within our hearts and minds. POPSTrsditional Circle of Elders, Northern Cheyenne Creator, whisper what you want me to do. "Come forward and join hands with us in this great work for the Creator." It will take all of us to accomplish what needs to done to help our Creator, to correct what we have done to destroy this earth, the Creator placed in our care. We the First People know this, it is our job to teach the others who came after the right path. Cougar

POPSTessie Naranjo, Santa Clara Pueblo This is so, so true, we need to return to our roots, before it is to late, some have no idea what their roots are or culture really is, they try to find their way, but in these times it is very hard, they forget to speak to the elders because they are to busy following the white mans road. In the end they will never know who they really are. Stop, look around you, remember who you are and remember what is lost already. Cougar

POPSRobert Spott, Yurok One may ask is God really guiding us or putting obstacles in our path to challenge us to make the right decisions as to our purpose in life, each one of us have to find this out for them selves, only we can make the right choices. The Creator is always beside you no matter your choice. Cougar

POPSBlack Elk (Hehaka Sapa), Oglala "Sometimes dreams are wiser then waking." Creator, if you speak to me through dreams, let me know it in terms I can understand. Sometimes we can have a waking dream when talking to our Great Spirit, it is not the same for all and you will know it when it happens. Cougar

POPSGeorge Webb. Pima "The smarter a man is the more he needs God to protect him from thinking he knows everything." My Creator, guide my path and show me how to correct my life. Many leaders believe they have the knowledge to lead, but in the end they all need guidance, however some have taken the path of ignorance believing they are all knowing, needing no guidance. Cougar
