    Learning
    MetisCougar
    by MetisCougar  9-17-2008
The young have been weened on the easy ways of life, to live and learn the old ways do not interest them, unless they can gain some thing to make life easier for them. Life is not easier and will only get harder, life as we know it today will not last and it will be to late for the younger generation as the knowledge of our Elders will be lost to time. Cougar

In this day and age, man can never learn life, the majority of man lives in a concrete jungle, with most living a life without ever leaving the jungle they grew up in. Cougar

    You have wandered

    by MetisCougar  3-20-2008
I am one of those people who never grew up with the teachings of my ancestors, it was only later in life that I found my true identity, but I am still learning the path, with each day I learn more and more, but find I am still lacking. Creator, please guide me on my true path. Cougar

Deep within us we know we are the same, it is only those people that teach us we are different, that follow a different belief. A belief that destroys all of humanity. Cougar

    Changes

Nature, only the Great Spirit can control, something we humans would love to be able to control, as we seem to love to control everything around us. The First Peoples of the Americas learned along time ago that Nature is our guide to all things in life, the provider of life, health and nourishment, we need nothing more to live a happy life. The followers of the Red Road, took no more than needed to do this. The Colonists always took more than they needed and gave nothing back. We are only what we believe we are, not what others think of us, but we must always remember in this life we are at the mercy of nature the one thing we cannot control. Cougar

One may ask is God really guiding us or putting obstacles in our path to challenge us to make the right decisions as to our purpose in life, each one of us have to find this out for them selves, only we can make the right choices. The Creator is always beside you no matter your choice. Cougar

    Phillip Deere, Muskogee-Creek

    by MetisCougar  11-30-2007
"Life, the circle, a measurement with no beginning and no end." We need to get back to nature to truly understand what Phillip Deere has said, respecting everything including the very rocks beneath your feet. A Native can understand this, but a white man never will until they learn to respect one another, for if they cannot respect one another, how do we expect them to respect the earth? Cougar
