Right Wing Americans are Getting What They Deserve
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  1-15-2007    59
Here's the last bit :) All I can say is that this is what you get for believing even for a moment what the US corporate media wants you to believe. The rest of us Bush haters are Bush haters for one reason and one reason only; we pay attention! So to my new former Bush supporting friends who seem to be suddenly surrounding me and telling me that I have been right all along: you can tell me I was right but after that shut the hell up because it is too late for forgiveness. From now on, just shut up and listen. Think about it! Yeah!! I just had to clip this. I just had to! .:D I'm just gonna have to take the s*** and excuses and apologetics the Bush supporters and neo-con clippers are gonna try to give me on this, but I don't care. It's most definitely worth it. This clip is for all my fellow "Bush-haters" Enjoy! I did!

    Dinosaur evolutionary tree unveiled
    Mohir
    by Mohir  7-24-2008
It remained at that low level throughout the following Cretaceous period, a time of plenty in Earth's terrestrial history in which flowering plants, lizards, snakes, birds and mammals all became much more numerous. Dinosaurs apparently did not take advantage of the abundant food supply that emerged during the Cretaceous Terrestrial Revolution. "Our supertree allows us to look for unusual patterns across the whole of dinosaurs for the first time," says Lloyd. "It is the most comprehensive picture ever produced of how dinosaurs evolved."

"Many consumers would like to support skilled farmers who produce healthy products, are good stewards of their land, work to preserve clean water and open spaces around our communities, and are contributing to a secure food system. Our representatives need to know this is the kind of farming we want to support with our tax dollars in the new 2007 Farm Bill. " See source for links, information and opportunities for change. Bees vs Cell Phone: Creating Another False Panic?
    DizzyDezzi
    by DizzyDezzi  4-15-2007    3
Another take on the whole cellphones are killing the bees story that is buzzing around the net, today (hey, even Dizzy posted about it). I am posting this in the interest of introducing another perspective on the issue. The author is a scientist who says "wait a minute...not so fast...weigh ALL the evidence first, all is not as it would seem..." Hey, I can buy that...and, at the same time (like on the whole global warming issue), I can research the issues and come to my own conclusion--not one fed to me by the MSM...

Doesn't that last sentence just warm your heart also, War Profiteering from former U.S. military procurement officials as well. As Soldiers and Iraqi's are being Maimed and Killed!! Where have I seen this picture before, Oh Ya 'Nam! Public Warehousing Co. disclosed the federal investigation in two lawsuits filed in federal courts in Washington earlier this year. • In this complaint the company contended that the Pentagon was blocking its pursuit of further contracts because of the investigation. A PWC executive states his position here. After a Federal Claims Court judge indicated he would side with the company, the Justice Department and Pentagon reached a settlement with the company granting most of its demands.

Best Use of Grain: Food or Fuel?
    gingembre
    by gingembre  4-3-2007    7
"In some U.S. Corn Belt states, ethanol distilleries are taking over the corn supply. In Iowa, a staggering 55 ethanol plants are operating or have been proposed. Iowa State University economist Bob Wisner observes that if all these plants are built, they would use virtually all the corn grown in Iowa. In South Dakota, a top-ten corn-growing state, ethanol distilleries are already claiming over half of the corn harvest." "With so many distilleries being built, livestock and poultry producers fear there may not be enough corn to produce meat, milk, and eggs. " "As the price of oil climbs, it becomes increasingly profitable to convert farm commodities into automotive fuel, either ethanol or biodiesel. In effect, the price of oil becomes the support price for food commodities. Whenever the food value of a commodity drops below its fuel value, the market will convert it into fuel." Geez, the more I learn about ethanol & biodiesel the more I see what a mistake it is for the world.

The World Laughs with You - evidence suggests that laughter is a social cue for mimicry. Mimicry plays an important role in social interaction 1. Your Skin Has Four Colors - All skin, without coloring, would appear creamy white. Near-surface blood vessels add a blush of red. A yellow pigment also tints the canvas. Lastly, sepia-toned melanin, created in response to ultraviolet rays, appears black in large amounts. These four hues mix in different proportions to create the skin colors of all the peoples of Earth.

    Undoing America's Ethanol Mistake
    merrie
    by merrie  4-26-2008    2
Expanding biofuels while refusing to take other measures, such as lifting the ban on oil and natural gas production in Alaska and the Outer Continental Shelf, is counterproductive. We should be tapping into a broad portfolio of energy options, including clean coal, nuclear power and wave energy. By taking these measures, we can enable biofuels to be part of the energy solution, instead of contributing to the energy problem. Restraining the dangerous effects of artificially inflated demand for ethanol should be an issue that unites both conservatives and progressives. As a recent Time cover story pointed out, biofuel mandates increase greenhouse gasses and create incentives for global deforestation. In the Amazon basin, huge swaths of forest are being cleared to meet the growing hunger for biofuels. In addition, relief organizations are facing gaping shortfalls as the cost of food outpaces their ability to provide aid for the 800 million people who lack food security.

    The Enemy Within
    merrie

and the developing world’s discovery of corn-fattened beef. Greenies – Oil The greenies supported by the Democrats have blocked all efforts to increase the domestic supply of oil and gas and the Democrats and their greenies have blocked all efforts to build atomic plants for decades. We can’t expect relief from such high prices as Democrats are holding our oil reserves hostage to some delusional belief it is saving our planet. Anti-Capitalist Socialist Democrats Not all Democrats are both anti-capitalist or socialists but enough of them were to nominate Obama, a card-carrying community activist whose political proposals on his website are pure Marxian – taking from the rich and redistributing to the poor. It seems clear that our enemy is right here in America – The far left of the Democrat Party, They bribe the poor, indoctrinate our youth into socialism and traitorously work to undermine our military at every college and every recruiting station in the nation.

American Slave Trade; Stronger than Ever
    righthand
    by righthand  3-12-2008
"The private contracting of prisoners for work fosters incentives to lock people up. Prisons depend on this income. Corporate stockholders who make money off prisoners' work lobby for longer sentences, in order to expand their workforce. The system feeds itself," says a study by the Progressive Labor Party, which accuses the prison industry of being "an imitation of Nazi Germany with respect to forced slave labor and concentration camps." The prison industry complex is one of the fastest-growing industries in the United States and its investors are on Wall Street. "This multimillion-dollar industry has its own trade exhibitions, conventions, websites, and mail-order/Internet catalogs. It also has direct advertising campaigns, architecture companies, construction companies, investment houses on Wall Street, plumbing supply companies, food supply companies, armed security, and padded cells in a large variety of colours." ...
