Oh Rudy, hubris runs deep among you Republicans. Your shameless exploitation of 9-11 is a deep seated example of the excessive pride and arrogance of the right. Hubris generally is the precursor to downfall or destruction in classical tragedy. The hubris of the Bush White House led to the quagmire in Iraq that, in the final analysis, will prove to be the greatest threat to American security interests at home and abroad by Islamic fundamentalists; a threat far greater than existed prior to that ill-conceived war. Your remarks call into question your capacity to govern the nation. You should be deeply ashamed of your remarks and offer an apology to your Democratic brothers and sisters before you continue on in your efforts to become the president of the United States. Your claim that the Democrats would cause more death and take longer to defeat terrorism is, quite clearly, the remark of a prideful and ambitious politico who will stop at nothing to further his campaign. POPSHow white racism increases support for death penalty A survey asked whites about their support for the death penalty. When whites are asked a straight-forward question about support for the death penalty, 65% say they support it. When whites are told that an argument against the death penalty is that its unfair because most of the executed are black, support for the death penalty rises to 77 percent. Now, I am not saying that all (or even most) proponents of the death penalty are racist. At the very least, what the study shows is that there is a group of whites whose racial animosity leads them to support the death penalty.

POPSHatred towards Women Bloggers... When I read this in the BBC, I thought it was just sensational journalism. I followed the link trails and went to web sites in question. Horrifying. Appalling. I remember visiting Ms Sierra's blog years ago when I started out in web design. This woman is a long time blogger advocating creativity and technology in a well written blog. I would read her stuff, zeldmans stuff among others. Why she should be threatened in an extremely frightening manner is beyond me. http://headrush.typepad.com/ While anonymity gives some freedom of expression and freedom of the constraints of identity for surfers and bloggers alike, it by no means should allow people to be able to make this extreme level of threat to another human being regardless of gender. Issues with free speech and terrorism do not necessarily mean Iraq and the war. Irrational hatred takes on so many insidious forms...
