POPSSlow Mac OS My MacBook Pro was running out of disk space, it seems that this has fixed it! I thought that MacOS was free of this type of bug.

POPSThe Cove - Dolphin hunt film canceled in Tokyo after protests Most Japanese I know have never eaten whale or dolphin meat and I would say they would not support what happens in the place shown on this documentary (and hidden from the public) . Having said that, to me, killing dolphins for food is not different than killing any other mammal like a cow, a deer or a bison. What makes me mad is that a right wing minority in Japan is allowed to decide what others can or can not see and avoid any dialog to happen.

POPSHow to integrate Toodledo with Thunderbird This is the code you need to add to error console, but I think that just using the WAT extension is a better option. Code is below: Components.classes .getService(Components.interfaces.nsIWindowMediator).getMostRecentWindow("mail:3pane").document.getElementById("tabmail").openTab("contentTab", {contentPage: "http://www.toodledo.com/views/index.php"});

POPSHP LaserJet Scan Problem on Mac OSX - FIX I had an old HP Laserjet sitting around my office and decided to use it as a local printer/scanner. After installing all the software the scan would still not work. This has solved my problem, in fact, just the open with rosetta part was enough, just do not forget to close the app before trying to mark that box otherwise it will be gray out.

POPSAccount Colors - Thunderbird Add On if you are like me, and need to manage multiple email accounts from one single place, you should try this extension. It is particularly useful with latest versions of Thunderbird when you can have one single Inbox for all your accounts....

POPSCompost Pile Friends they may not look nice but they are big helpers (most of the time). However, if you are concerned about the food web in your compost pile "breaking out," try the following tips: 1. Create a barrier by spreading a line of wood ash (not barbecue ash because of fat residues) or crushed egg shells around your compost pile. This will keep the activity contained within the pile. 2. A similar, but more lethal technique, is to sink small margarine containers full of stale beer, molasses and water, or yeast and water in the ground around the compost pile. Unsuspecting slugs, sow bugs, and earwigs will be attracted to the liquid, crawl inside, and drown. Earwigs can be sprayed with a solution of one tablespoon of liquid soap detergent combined with one quart of water. This will kill the earwigs that are doing damage and spare the helpful bugs that are eating dead organic material. (information from California Integrated Waste Management Board)

POPSLife without Parole at Age 16 I got to know about Sarah's case from a facebook friend (Thanks Alisa). I know it is hard to have a fair justice system, specially when life is not fair, but this case illustrate something that should not be called justice! Check youtube video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR7mno6p9iQ&feature=related and decide for yourself if you want to sign a petition to change that . I am not against Life without parole, in fact there are countries that should have a law like that (=Brazil), but its application to minors should be reconsidered.

POPSB&N eBook Reader - Nook I would buy one for Christmas if it had a browser. Not sure how far B&N is from a more intelligent device though. Nook runs Google Android, has WiFi access (free at B&N stores), allow downloads over-the-air using AT&T 3G network (access is included in the price of the device), has USB and its memory can be expanded by using a mini-SDCard. To me, it looks like an iPhone with a bigger display! (I am sure Apple has one in the works...)

POPSYour cell phone as a 3G WiFi Router I wish I had a Symbian phone so I could try this out. If you don't mind about carrying 2 devices you can have your iPod Touch tethered to your cell for 3G connectivity and avoid all iPhone related charges....

POPSHighTech Temple I am always amazed about how the Japanese can embrace the future without discarding their traditions, this is another example of that. If you read Japanese I think you can buy a vault space in this site: http://www.suishoden.jp/
