A colossal blunder in Mel Gibson's "APOCALYPTO" movie
    astronkyttaron
    by astronkyttaron  7-3-2007    1
I've seen astronomical mistakes like this in many other movies too, specially movies with vampires and werewolfs when the moon plays a significant part in the plot. I think in Ford Coppola's "DRACULA" too, the Moon from the face of one quarter (half) "runs" within a day in the face of Full Moon (7 days later) :--D

The first planet that could support life as we know it!
    astronkyttaron
    by astronkyttaron  4-25-2007
The newly found "super-Earth," about five times more massive than our planet, is 14 times closer to its star than the Earth is from the sun. As a result, its year lasts only 13 Earth days. It has been named , named 581 c. Astronomers estimate that the world's surface temperature would therefore be between 0 and 40 degrees. Water would thus be liquid...
