POPSGoing Green Doesn't Mean Spending Green The green industry is a massive one in America. Much of the money that goes into it is well spent, I think (think: new wind farms, solar panels, recycling, building green office buildings). But a lot of the crud people spend their money on in the name of environmentalism is a waste and goes against the ethic of go green.

POPSGet it on! This is my current favorite comic in The Stranger . Thanks to Bumbershoot , I just found out that The Rude Mechanicals have created a play based on the strip. That almost makes me wish I wasn't working so I could go see it.... Maybe I can find something on YouTube...

POPSBurning Man is no longer relevant I have a few friends (and a sister in law) who are "burners." I'm not and have always thought that the burners are a bit holier than thou which leaves a bad taste in my mouth for the whole event. The lack of environmental awareness amongst Burners only made what seemed me to be an overly commercial alterna-event even more mainstream. Anyone willing to push Burning Man back from the mainstream is a-ok by me.

POPSIPhone hysteria+Greed=Screwed First, let me say that I am sick to death of IPhone hysteria. Sure, the thing looks cool and from what I hear, it’s pretty amazing and yeah, I’d like one myself… but does anyone else think it’s a little sick the way the media has been covering the IPhone as a piece of news? Outside of the technology reporting and reviewing, why is it a piece of news? It’s just another new gadget that people are salivating over because the media is making it into the biggest thing since sliced bread. Heck, even sliced bread didn’t get this kind of coverage. Regardless of whether or not the media has been happily giving Apple and AT&T all the free advertising they want and more, tand we’ve been swallowing it as “news” hook, line and sinker, this story below is, well, beautiful. It sums up what I think should happen to greedy people .
