POPSBenjamin Oaks releases "DEAD or ALIVE" alternative/funk album
cliche but you know the story... started banging on the pots and pans as a toddler madukes (my first and only love besides music) raised me on a good mix of Motown and 70's rock - Aerosmith, Chicago, Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers humming and singing my own made up tunes while on the swingset... getting high... madukes paid for paino lessons and for some dumb reason I hated them... learning those boring dead white guy's music - Beethove, Bach... but Thcaikovsky was pretty impresive I more injoyed just banging on it... I do remember playing the Flinstones theme song from memory and that blew my teacher away i first remember just trying to rock neil young's style... so hard... cool uncle Mitch gave me my first guitar and the Beatles song book... I actually then learned them on the piano instead of the guitar my other uncle Chuck had the sickest studio on our grandpa Cactus Jack's spread in Guthriesville. i was amazed by the magic he made in there. stuck with me since.

POPSWelcome to the Substream summer concert series We're having a bunch of concerts on my roof this summer with some great acts! Each concert will feature acts from all kinds of genres- hiphop to drum n bass, jazz to punk, reggae to indie rock. The first of these concerts is SAT May 19th with two great indie glam bands (similar to that new stuff on the radio/MTV... sorry I'm not a big fan of rock but these bands are all the rage now in Philly) - Univox and Qwirk, a killer DJ (DIEFEX) and my two fave hiphop acts from Philly- The GreaseMonkeys and The Knowmadz! Click on the flyer image for more info and for Myspace links to the bands- they're GOOD- trust me, these are handpicked the best of the crop right now:

POPSUSB humping dog The perfect gift for the “geek” who has everything. This little dog humps your USB port like there’s no tomorrow, and for only about $9.00 it’s a steal. Now the down side, if you can even call it one, is that’s all it does. It’s not a flash drive, it plays no sounds, it just humps your USB port.
