$10.2 Trillion: National Debt Clock Goes Bust
    blueridge
by blueridge  Yesterday 6:03 AM    1
George Bush's legacy and the cost of war. How appropriate for the Debt Clock to run out of numbers. It's so symbolic, like the clock itself staggered at the number. The figure is absolutely outrageous and completely unjustifiable. And republicans used to be the party of limited instead of Big Government. The consequences are now all coming back. But Democrats should not gloat too much, they had plenty of support for the same spending packages and gave Bush whatever he wanted (fools). The ignorant flag-waving American public now realizes they were pushed into war under false pretenses and lies.

McCain's Foreign Policy: Global Democratic Gang
    blueridge
    by blueridge  9-27-2008
McCain calls for a "League of Democracies" for the purposes of "peace" but actually for war. Its key principle is "entangling alliances" which George Washington warned against, starting with NATO as its foundation. This is actually an old plan and precisely what the UN is all about except it cuts China and Russia out. This is consistent with George Bush (Bush 41) "new world order" speech where he talked about a United Nations that lives up to the intention of its founders, as he launched Iraq War I. GWB 43 has also made reference to similar principles while already by-passing the UN when it is reluctant to launch a war. Actually it makes little difference, except to show that Russia and China will be cut out of decisions because they will be the new targets of contest under his neocon vision. The call to "make the world safe for democracy" (like Wilson and FDR) has been the foundation of world wars, and likely more.

The Bush Doctrine: Preventive, Not Pre-emptive War
    blueridge
    by blueridge  9-13-2008
While Krauthammer (neoconservative columnist) desperately covers for Palin in the aftermath of the ABC Gibson interview Robert Schlesinger gets it right. Palin and Gibson were both wrong, and Palin not even close. His playground analogy makes it clear and that the neocons have confused "pre-emptive war" with "preventive" demonstrates the difference between just and unjust war. For the record, Charles Gibson didn't get the Bush Doctrine right either. But at least, unlike Sarah Palin, he had an idea of what he was talking about (a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy for the last six years). Read the full article. Recall Ron Paul's excellent line in the republican debates about America's greatest moral problem: "We in the past have always declared war in the defense of our liberties or go to aid of somebody... But now we have accepted the principle of preemptive war — we have rejected the Just War theory of Christianity. [/q

Israel Wants to Attack Iran, US Military Aid Denied

Israel is impotent without the U.S.. They have always used America in their own war agendas. Note the strategic importance in the big picture of Iraqi air space which this Israeli news article mentions! This is just one reason why Israel and the neocon agenda demanded regime change in Iraq, which clears the way for further wars of aggression in the region by Israel, under a pretense of a "war on terrorism" (which both Obama and McCain will continue). Note too that while the US has been somewhat restraining Israel, this is mentioned too: Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in private discussions, even raised the possibility that the U.S. was considering an attack in the transition period between the election in November and the inauguration of the new president in January 2009.

    Pakistan Furious Over U.S. Insurgency

Everything that Bush accused Russia of (not respecting sovereignty of Georgia) suddenly does not apply. Every invasion of Bush's imperial storm troopers (or under Clinton too for that matter, like Kosovo) is always justified, and any other country acting in self-defense or to defend their jurisdictions (e.g. Russia-S. Ossetia) is condemned. And for you hypocritical democrats who want Obama, he already stated he would do the very same thing, invade Pakistan for the "war on terrorism"! (Objective commentary based on principle must spare none who violate it). The hypocrisy is self evident, yet the MSM does not expose it. The wars will NEVER end until the people make the government stop and refuse to support ANY leader who violates the very restrictive principles of just war and the Constitution.

Israel Behind Georgia's Invasion of S. Ossettia

This in Israeli press, but not in the U.S. MSM. Of course it was a Hezbollah leader who has exposed this truth and of course will be denounced. But the facts remain true and easily verified. Israel (and the neocons, Cheney had a man in Georgia prior to the war) were behind Georgia's invasion (and murder of civilians) of South Ossetia who declared independence from Georgia over a decade ago. What the Hezbollah leader says (mocking Israel) is true, they stopped Israel's (unjust) war against Lebanon (bombing 70 percent of the country's infrastructure in a "disproportionate response") which was part of a neocon-Israeli plan for a "new middle east". Russia stopped the neocon-Israeli plans for the recapture of Ossetia.

Argue with Georgia' s President if you do not like the plain facts that it shows! Why did not the "liberal" US media show you this? Ask them! Please let your Congressmen know that this documented proof contradicts the MSM and US government propaganda that has painted Russia as the aggressor in the Georgia conflict, while Russia responded to their attack on South Ossetia. Conclusion: The same bi-partisan people, in government and media, who sold you the Iraq lies for war are selling lies about Russia for the same neoconservative agenda (and to get Georgia into NATO).

Note this happens as the oil laden Caspian region (Russia, Georgia, etc.) comes into play with war and rumors of war--and particularly as Condi Rice (former exec at Chevron) goes around heightening US rhetoric against Russia and signing provocatory missile agreements with its satellite states. It is not actual supply so much as perceived supply which is effected by wars and "geopolitical" tensions and factors . Change the (neoconservative) war policy, prices will drop.

Russia responded. Congress needs to stop listening to White House propagandists and see the real story, before they start a new Iraq conflict, with Russia, and even towards world war (i.e. NATO versus Russia and allies)! And Congress needs informed people to help wake them up to these documented facts: The Ossetians, a divided people with one section living within Russia on the north side of the Caucasus mountains, and the other in Georgia, generally felt more comfortable with Russian rule than as part of the new, post-Soviet Georgian state. A small and nasty war with Tbilisi in 1990-92 led to a declaration of independence Is it not the Ossetians that have the stake in all this, who will govern and rule them?

Russia's government says this looks like Iraq (Bush's war) and Kosovo (Clinton's war, condemned by republicans) all over again! Americans should play the skeptic and consider domestic media as propaganda (as usual). Pravda: "The further the situation unfolds, the more the world will understand that Georgia would never be able to do all this without America. South Ossetian defense officials used to make statements about imminent aggression from Georgia , but the latter denied everything, whereas the US Department of State released no comments on the matter. In essence, they have prepared the force, which destroys everything in South Ossetia, attacks civilians and hospitals. They are responsible for this. The world community will learn about it,” /quote]

In-depth interviews here on Democracy Now podcast trace the clear evidence that whoever sent the letters engaged in purposeful propaganda to push the "War on terrorism" (Middle East regime change) and Homeland Security (fear-based) agendas. Also details about the suicide suspect Ivins by a person who knew him and the FBI's suspicious handling of the entire case. Forged Letter to Saddam Used to Justify Iraq War

The White House denies THEY controlled this. But. 1. They do not deny there was a forged letter, if you read closely, to link Saddam to 9/11 falsely. 2. Dick Cheney (lead neocon in making the case for war, and member of the Project for New American Century blueprint for regime change in Iraq written in Sept. 2000) even admits he is not part of the Executive Branch . So the White House officially did not control this, but Cheney (who was "visiting the CIA daily", it was reported) and the neocons in the Office of Special Plans did this. Again, 9/11 was centrally used to claim to justify war with Iraq where even per Bush "Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11", yet this was the link they established to the public. 9/11 was a Neo-Con job, and this demonstrates further how they used it.

That summarizes the story behind this very slanted and propaganda-driven news article from the "liberal UK media", which states everything in such a manner as to suggest this as an offensive, instead of defensive, measure. So the US goads the UN into new economic sanctions in the game to eventually go to war, and Iran seeing this clearly warns of the consequences that attacking Iran will be no cake walk. Iran has missile systems to take out battle ships. The chess game continues, and war and oil prices (effecting all Americans daily lives) hang in the balance.

Again 9/11 was the pretext for both Iraq and Afghanistan regime change and arranged prior to that "catalyzing event". pre-911: Unocal lavished money and attention on Taliban, flew a senior delegation to Texas Now: Afghanistan just signed a major deal to launch a long-planned, 1680 km long pipeline project expected to cost $ 8 billion. "Mission accomplished". Note the role that Karzai played prior to his installment. Note also how Pakistan fits into this equation which has nothing to do with terrorism. But there are only two practical ways to get gas and oil out of land-locked Central Asia to the sea: through Iran, or through Afghanistan to Pakistan. For Washington, Iran is tabu. That leaves Pakistan, but to get there, the planned pipeline must cross western Afghanistan

Watch the interview, Obama does not answer one "why?" question of Lara Logan about the "necessity" of the "war on terrorism", he simply dodges and assumes its legitimacy without reason or debate. UNJUST WAR is the problem here. Where is the protest? The "war on terrorism" is not a true or legal constitutional war, and enabling Obama to do the same as Bush without criticism is hypocritical and partisan blindness. It has always been the goal to finish Iraq and legitimize and spread the war on terrorism. Note the media: War = Patriotism

So earlier we saw "bad cop" war games and rhetoric by US and Israel, and now this multinational "diplomacy" will play "good cop", to force the will of the US and Israel on Iran. That is not diplomacy, and the shift is temporary, for the election season. The result (which might be a goal too) will be that the oil traders will sell and lower oil prices will come (as they already did on first news of this), and this game will probably be played between now and Nov. 5th (to help McCain), and then the war-mongering will start again, and possibly an attack by Israel ( per neocon John Bolton's clipmark earlier ) to force the next President's hand into the conflict. Bush does not change from his neocon advisers blueprint. This pragmatism is for political expediency and economic benefit for election season purposes.

He knows that US and Israel are trying to provoke war through propaganda and drills (and covert ops), and is laughing at the game being played while preparing to defend just in case. What he says further on gas and oil prices is interesting: Ahmadinejad said the high oil prices are the result of a weak dollar and a deliberate decision by the United States and some European countries to profit from high fuel taxes. In some European countries, 70 percent of the fuel cost goes to governments as tax, he said. "So it is very clear and obvious that the market does not have a role in raising prices. There are some others that are determining the oil price for the benefit of the few, very rich people of the world,"

Yet no one is talking about war-mongering as a factor in high oil prices, even though Iran is the 4th largest exporter in the world. As some would say...Duh! It is not a supply issue. Repeating for the upteenth time, high gas prices are due to: 1. speculative trading 2. dollar devaluation 3. geopolitical issues (war, rumors of war, US war policy, Israel) 4. government debt, increased money supply, war spending. These all tie together and started oil's price surge when the Iraq war began, and not before. War policy drives oil up on the trade floor.

West Virginia, Rogue State Formed Unlawfully

It's West Virginia Day June 20th. The state was formed illegally by a minority insurrection 145 years ago. Beautiful state, but with an unlawfully formed government. This is lifted from West Virginia's own archives. History records the controversy. "there is no evidence that the majority of people within the counties which were to compose the new state had ever given its assent to its formation." Fruits of the Civil War, "Old Dominion" Virginia was ripped in half. Virginia has never officially recognized the rogue state of West Virginia in law. Lincoln himself called it merely "expeditious", not legal. Lincoln and Congress had no more authority to permit the state anymore than Bush could authorize West Pennsylvania or Northern California. During the Civil War those who supported the Yankee Union position were called "anti-Virginians". State's rights was greatly trampled which the Constitution itself in the 10th amendment defends.
