POPSBody Armor debate gets redhot - FactCheck.org This should be a redhot thread for anyone concerned with 'supporting our troops'. Simple fact is, if the Army orders it's troops not to use something even out of their own pocket, they can't use it. If it works better than the issued gear and people die, that is infuriating. So now that this pissing contest between army procurement and the civilian company Pinnacle has been brought out, it should be fairly covered by the press.

POPSDragon Skin Body Armor allegations - response by pinnacle Pissing contest of the first priority between the Army and a private corporation. Heard of good things about this armor, including flexibility. Army bans its use, but other services have no complaints. My take initially was that it was a govt. contract pissing contest: someone has the contract and the military will take its sweet time evaluating new company products while the initial procurement runs its course. This is not partisan, this is about our troops getting the best damn deal possible. Even if they have to buy it themselves. Currently the US Army forbids its troops to wear any armor but the type it provides, which the US Marine Corps has shown to be substandard.

POPSDragon Skin Body Armor - response by pinnacle response by Pinnacle Armor regarding US Army's evaluation. I guess the boys in green are in a pissing contest about this. All of this should be covered by the media, in the fairest sense of the word this is news.

POPSClear, concise, proWar sentiment In keeping with the sentiment which means nothing to anyone in the military (I support the troops, not the war), we, the 99.6% of the US population cheapen the contributions made by the voluntary .4% which defends our freedoms.
