POPS26% of Americans don't know that earth revolves around sun (my understanding is that the 71.2% who correctly said that it takes the earth 1 year to revolve around the sun is actually 71.2% of the 73.6% of respondents who correctly said the earth revolves around the sun. POPSA MUST for Windows Users! Get it NOW!! This s/w allows you to create alias for ANY folder. This is similar to what the web does with using names instead of IP address (e.g. www.cnn.com instead of 122.1.2.2). This program allows you to name say, c:\my documents\my pictures\family photos\wedding pics as simply Wedding Pics. Then whenever you want to get to that folder simply right click anywhere on the desktop, choose folder guide, then choose Wedding Pics. 3 whole clicks! You can also use this in 'Save As' dialogs. Simply right click in the area where the folders are and do the same thing. I don't know why Microsoft didn't include this as a default tool. I wonder if it's in vista or not. A great program that does something right....and it's FREE!!!

POPSHow to Use First Names In the world of influence, names are money. Schoolteachers know it. Bartenders know it. Salesmen know it. Very polite children know it. These people have figured it out. A name well used makes any person feel seen. When someone uses my name, I know that he has at least considered me in some fashion, that my presence has registered. It conveys a substratum of intimacy, a level of connection, a sense that life does not have to be lived in a torpid fog of anonymous comings and goings.

Think about the person you want to be and do what that person would do. Act the way that person would act. Amazingly enough, once you start acting like that person, people will start treating you like that person.

POPSI have found this to be true ... even at my beloved Clipmarks I have stayed away from clipmarks from a while, in order to facilitate a more balanced life. I stopped visiting for awhile when I noticed some folks were taking my own opinions to be critiques of them almost personally. This scared me. It said to me that they and I were spending too much time here. Need some real world connection ... when we care more about our invisible friends than the person next door or next to you in the bookstore, it is time to check reality. We don't know each other on clipmarks we only know a portion of the person behind the keyboard. We know what they clip, not who they are.
