POPSRepublicans Try to Close Voting Centers. While the Republicans make false charges against a group called ACORN, for doing voter fraud...here's a real fact we can hang our hats on: Republicans - went - to - court - to - try - to - close - voting -- places. Republicans are trying to close these early-voting centers because they are near poor and minority areas. If they were near their Wall St. supporters there would be no complaint. It is true, though, BTW, that these new voting centers approved last year by a majority vote of an election board, might help Democrats...that's why the majority of Democrats on this election board voted in favor. BUT - Such actions are a non-stop battle between all the parties all the time. And this is mild compared to the non-stop efforts at gerrymandering, where the boundaries of election districts and distorted in favor of one party. Since Republicans have been in power the last eight years they are Much More guilty of this.

POPSRepublicans try to tie Obama to voter fraud
Republicans are going full tilt trying to smear Obama. This is just one sustained example. In fact, there is also evidence that links Republicans to voter fraud, but far less coverage of that. They would like to win the election by painting Obama as if he's doing voting fraud, as if he's linked to 'domestic terrorist,' as if he's getting vast amounts of funding from Arab sources, etc. They are appeal to hate and fear; hate and fear and no substance behind it at all; and no substance to actually work for the interests of the American people (or the world). Compared to these fabrications we can see the realities of: False War; Failed Economy; a FEMA government. Also note, this clip makes it clear that ACORN supervisors were following the rules requiring them to submit all voter registration cards AND dutifully pointing out ones they themselves suspected as fraud. Thus, Republican false attacks not only wrong, but deliberately deceitful. Vote Obama; it's a necessary

POPSPalin Must Condemn Hateful Obama Attacks.
VP Democratic candidate, Senator Joe Biden is confronting what he calls the "ugly," and "dangerous," recent Republican campaign rallies where members of the crowd are shouting out about Obama: "Treason!" and "Kill him!" Those are very appropriate words. Over the last week, here at Clipmarks, other forums, on radio, TV, in the newspapers and magazines there is a shocking virulent outburst of hate against Obama, trying to associate him with "domestic terrorism," and being a supporter of 'Islamofacsist," (the neocon propagada term the Republicans wave like a red flag). In this age of 24-hour media coverage there is the real possibility of such vocal and visible fascist-like hatred and attempts to distort elections and destroy opponents can succeed. It was done in the 2000 elections in the USA, which Al Gore won and Bush stole in Florida, with the help of a shouting mob. We have to not only stand strong against this, but fight back, word for word -- & Vote Obama, Please

POPSUkraine Leader Dissolves Parliament. Parliament?
This news is so juicy -- and so deep -- that I could feast on it for weeks. But First: For My Dear Fellow Americans: Notice > Dissolve the government (temporarily), with just the mere snap of a finger. #2 > News elections - new government in two months. #3 > A small party, like say: The Greens, or Libertarians, etc. - could cause this to happen by shifting sides (and gain significant power in the process. My dear Fellow Americans, that is actual democracy. I guess I should point out, too, that's it's the second Major Move by Russia (Oh, yea...Russian is behind this)...it's the 2nd Move, after kicking back the attack from Georgia...that totally dismantles about 15 years of U.S. efforts to surround Russia, steal the oil from the Caspian Sea, etc. (All under the false flag of "spreading freedom and democracy, BTW) Repulsing the Geogian invasion was like (in chess) moving a Bishop. POPSBarrack's Wife: Michelle Obama Plays It Cool.
These people, this campaign, is incredible. I have never seen nor could even have imagined such consistent brillance. The more common reaction would be to toss insults back at McCain and instead she talks about respecting them and how Obama is going to need them! One of Obama's clever message (and I believe it's also sincere) is how Democrats, Republicans and Independents have to work together (appealing to them all), and how there is no 'Red States,' of America, nor 'Blue States,' of America -- but the United States of America (appealing to us all). Even direct enemies are invited in and it is another (I believe sincere) brilliant thing: It disarms the 'enemy,' and is a core of his political philosophy: Work Together: Consensus This has actually worked to soften significant Catholic opposition (due to the abortion issue; most difficult). (/About 56% Catholic opposition would lose the election). How? -- Allow abortions (regrettably) but work to build families; do adapti

POPSSherriff Stops Evictions in Home Foreclosures
Although this may almost sound like "non-news," to some, it is incredibly dramatic, not so dramatic as parts of the French Army joining the rebels in the French Revolution nor so dramatid as the Russian Army joining the revolutionaries against the Czar during WWI --- but it is an "officer of the law," saying he's not going to obey the law to evict people from their homes -- during this economic crisis where now home foreclosures have tripled from just two years ago. The rather dramatic headline, though, is misleading (even though I like dramatic headlines like this myself.) In fact, while the sheriff's actions are not so dramatic (in a way)...but his real actions are far more clever: He is Slowing Down Evictions. This way, #1, he won't get fired. #2 his extra demands for documentation and total paperwork requirements could give folks at least a half-a-year before police would actually show up at their door. Smart. And protects true innocents: renters of homes being forclos

POPSBrits, U.S. Inject Capital. Save Banks. Start Socialism.
Following the lead of the Aussie's (not mentioned in article), The British government this morning pledged to "injected capital," -- hundred of billions of pounds -- to rescue its banking system. U.S. Treasury Secretary says he has "broad powers," to do the same. I think this is a good idea. It sure is a better idea than buying stinking unsecured debt that may never be repaid, that is if I understand the term "injecting capital," correctly (which I think I do but it would help if these guys spoke English). Why have they come up with what sounds like, at least, a reasonable plan? I don't know...maybe it's the intense scrutiny they are under...i.e., "oversight," actually helps. Of course there is some irony in this due to the fact that government buying ownership (buying stocks) in private companies is a cornerstone idea of socialism. And this idea comes from the ultimate capitalist who oppose government intervention in any way. I find this very interesting.

POPSRepublican Rallies Now Sound like the KKK The clip from the New York Times reports someone at a Palin rally urging killing Barrack Obama, others calling Obama a 'traitor," -- Palin associating him with domestic terrorist...and an Afro-American TV reporter being hassled by the crowd. If we let these Republicans win again these are the types of people we'd be continuing to let rule and mislead our country. I urge their defeat not just in the elections next month, but the elections after that and the election after that until their party is driven into extinction. This will not only help our country but "send the message," that you shouldn't mislead and lie a nation into war, you can't commit war crimes, you can't shred the Constitution, you can't destroy our economy and give away money to the banks while people life savings are stolen. KKK America in power again? Not on my watch. Not while I still have breath. And I hope, sincerely hope, you feel the same. Vote Obama. Defeat Republicans.

POPSAll Polls Indicate: Obama Wins Second Debate
Poll numbers and respectable expert opinion is overwhelming - but Obama's growing lead in the Electoral Collage growing by leaps and bounds. He's now estimated to have 264 electoral votes while McCain is estimated to only have less than 180. Yet a lot of talking heads yawn, say it was boring, or pretend that the baseball play-offs are more important (an effort at trivializing Obama's victories) -- and they continue to report smear and slander advertising campaigns against Obama as if it was news. As if a womanizer, crap shooter, ego manic ex-fly boy who confessed to war crimes in Vietnam and pleaded for special treatment when a POW is a better choice? There were real heroes in Vietnam but he wasn't one of them. And despite Vietnam being another undeclared war built on lies a soldier is suppose to be loyal and not give aid to the enemy. Australia today did what you're suppose to do to help prevent this descent into Global Worldwide Great Depression. On Wednesday, the central bank went further by accepting more types of debt as collateral for loans and lend to banks for much longer periods. POPSRepublicans attack minority voter registration drive.
Part of the success of ongoing ceaseless Republican lies, distortions and corruption of American values is that this news story was reported by most media as: Democrats guilty of Voter Fraud. The clip here, though, explains yesterday's raid by Navada officials on the offices of a poor and minority activist group. Republicans paint this group as a collection of malcontent radical communist. This is another success of their malicious assaults. This group actually lobbies for higher minimum wage, fair housing laws and landlord's living up to requires standards for plumbing, etc. ACORN also registers voters -- which is a very good thing to do -- showing that they want change through democracy. At most, the charges point to ONE worker being lazy and faking registrations to meet quotas. At most, the accusation indicates 300 false registrations out of 80,000 -- that's less than .004% And some of these are "duplicates," which: #1 > Could never work and #2 happens all the t

Thank God. Seeing my country involved in arresting people without cause, not allowing them legal representation, communication with family, no visits from the International Red Cross, not giving them their day in court, holding them for 'indefinite detention," keeping them imprisoned -- in this case -- for seven years -- and documented torture and abuse of such prisoners -- it's all pretty disgusting. And more disgusting that these prisoners were also used for propaganda about how these alleged evil men were out to harm us. And disgusting that thick-headed rednecks, neocon neofascist, and other warmongers went around waving flags about all this and claiming "God was on their side." -- and accusing us as the one's being 'unpatriotic,' when we were the most patriotic of all. POPSU.S.Fed Rally Fizzles: Emperor Has No Clothes
At the same time the head of the U.S. Federal Reserve was testifying before Congress (Oct. 7, 2008) about how his $700-billion dollar give away to Wall Street would help to heal the economy.... ...at this very same moment the Wall St. Stock Market was dropping close to 300 points. It dropped about 300- points the day before (after being down almost 800) It's like this: Let's attack Iraq because they have Weapons of Mass Destruction. Let's attack Iraq because they are linked to 9/11. Let's attack Iraq because they were prime suspects in anthrax attacks a week after 9/11. POPSMarkets Fall: Government Throws Away More Money
You don't have to be a lawyer to know if someone is lying -- But when a lawyer catches a witness in a lie it is often the beginning of the end. What caught my eye in this clip is: the government (USA) "will begin paying interest on the reserves that banks leave on deposit." Humm....we print the money...we give the money to the banks at super low interest rates...now the banks can give us back the money and charge us interest!? The next big part of the plan is to buy unsecured loans for threatened banks that may go out of business. Humm...Note: Other countries are buying assets or Number One Preferred Stock...meaning they get paid first if these banks fail. Also, rather than seeking to "inspire confidence," some suggest it would be better to dole out the cash for every new loan the banks make...which is what we want them to actually do. POPSGlobal Stock Markets Going Down. BadNews Bush Again
Bush didn't cause the real estate agents and banks to make bad and fraudulent loans -- but neither has he caused any recovery. Maybe, in fact, there is no quick fix to boom and bust speculation. But another fact is that this $700-billion does nor demands NOTHING that will directly help people with the predatory mortgages they were suckered into - nor guarantee more jobs -- nor make credit available again. It's only claim is "to inspire confidence." in the banks. It doesn't seem to be working and it's doubtful if anything a failed president, working with a failed Congress, could do with helping out a failed Wall Street. The SuperRich (the 1% of our population that now owns 20% of our wealth), the SuperRich still get all the breaks and loopholes and the Middle Class gets the screws put to them. Bush has already *ucked this over but this is the first time I've actually seen it spelled out, in print, in a proposed piece of legislation that the Bush White House wants to ram down our throats in the next four days. POPSNew Cold War on Short Fuse
I believe we are now closer to a real and large-scale nuclear war, more so than every other time in human history. (There's a good movie about this: "Thirteen Days," and a quick summary of the Cuban Missile crisis can be found, at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis) In addition to this reality and one difference between how President John Kennedy handled it and how the Bush-Cheny-Rice White House is handling it is: President Kennedy took it seriously and he got on TV and told the nation and the world that this was heavy-duty dangerous. Today, repeatedly, the White House says, like in the clip here: "Washington Downplayed it's significance." POPSConservatives Claim "Liberal Media."
A) We do not have a liberal media; it's a corporate controlled media. The lack of coverage of the fine speeches of the war protest groups this week at the RNC, for example, shows the media bias. There IS massive opposition the the war; the news just doesn't cover it. Claiming "liberal media," is propaganda. B)Though our American media does like to zoom in on the crotch of teenage girls who have sex that doesn't mean they are "liberal," but rather just a degenerate example of a decaying civilization that thinks this is "News." In fact, Obama (a so-called, 'liberal,') was Very Clear: "Leave familes out of our politics, esp. the children of candidates." Any parent knows that no matter what they do or say their kids might screw around or screw up. This IS the prevailing reaction of real people along with what Obama said. POPSU.S Supreme Court v. Guantánamo
It's great to see one of the most fundamental principles of the US Constitution (& Anglo-American law) is declared and will be restored: The right of an accused person to have a trial, to have "their day in court." For six years now 300 people (more - or less, at time) have been held without trial or even without specific charges of what crimes they did. It feels good that this one of the Bush's administration's evils is undone but feels bad that it was able to be done at all. Even in victory the law is often cruel. The men still sit in jail. Even though ordered to have trials for the prisoners delays and more delays can be expected. Who knows? Maybe some will even be found guilty? Although I've heard that several were really "set-ups," just so some warlord could collect a bounty and others just bodyguards or chauffeurs -- yet the military was able to use them for it's propaganda to keep the country in fear. Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated that there will be no consideration of impeachment proceedings against Bush and said the idea was "off the table." At least the 35 points for impeachment that Kucinich spelled out are a nice summary of Bush's war crimes and may prove useful after Bush leaves office. Unfortunately, while the Democrats must be voted for this election,IMO, they seems to have no guts for a real showdown, not wanting to "upset the apple cart," as they trundle along to a presumed election landslide. Who knows? Maybe they have a point; although if Bush attacks Iran that point is quite lost. Note: None of this was printed in a USA newspaper.
