POPSU.S.Fed Rally Fizzles: Emperor Has No Clothes
At the same time the head of the U.S. Federal Reserve was testifying before Congress (Oct. 7, 2008) about how his $700-billion dollar give away to Wall Street would help to heal the economy.... ...at this very same moment the Wall St. Stock Market was dropping close to 300 points. It dropped about 300- points the day before (after being down almost 800) It's like this: Let's attack Iraq because they have Weapons of Mass Destruction. Let's attack Iraq because they are linked to 9/11. Let's attack Iraq because they were prime suspects in anthrax attacks a week after 9/11. With these alleged facts motivating the nation it was easy to stampede the Congress and nation into war -- fact ALL proven untrue. Now the same thing being done with the economy, we're treated to the Head Banker (and now/then the President one hour later) saying how much this will help while we can see with our eyes the Stock Market falling fast. What sickness! What lies! DEFEAT ALL REPUBLICANS is

POPSGlobal Stock Markets Going Down. BadNews Bush Again
Bush didn't cause the real estate agents and banks to make bad and fraudulent loans -- but neither has he caused any recovery. Maybe, in fact, there is no quick fix to boom and bust speculation. But another fact is that this $700-billion does nor demands NOTHING that will directly help people with the predatory mortgages they were suckered into - nor guarantee more jobs -- nor make credit available again. It's only claim is "to inspire confidence." in the banks. It doesn't seem to be working and it's doubtful if anything a failed president, working with a failed Congress, could do with helping out a failed Wall Street. The SuperRich (the 1% of our population that now owns 20% of our wealth), the SuperRich still get all the breaks and loopholes and the Middle Class gets the screws put to them. Wall Street walks away with all their profits and all their bad debts are sold to the taxpayers -- Why didn't we buy stock in the banks instead? Or 100 other ways to do this bett

POPSBank Bailout Bill Wants to Avoid Court Scrutiny
As if this latest Grand Larceny of the Bush Administration, paying off the banks and their lobbyist with $700 billion or more in debt that will strangle American's prospects and it's people for decades -- now they propose avoiding one of the clearest know principles of the U.S. Constitution: "Checks & Balances." Checks & Balances means that the division of power in the United States is legally divided (or suppose to be legally divided) between three sources: The President, Congress and the Courts. Bush has already *ucked this over but this is the first time I've actually seen it spelled out, in print, in a proposed piece of legislation that the Bush White House wants to ram down our throats in the next four days. So, they're saying: "We need $700-billion MORE, and we need it in four days, and nobody can review or question what we do." This is Exactly want Checks & Balances is intended to prevent; rip offs. Bush's last act in the White House will probably be to steal the

POPSUS Government Takes On Six Trillion Dollars of Bad Debt
This is like a bank robbery. Wall St. & Congress have conspired in the largest stealing of tax dollars in US History. This equals all the other failures of Bush/Cheeney and their cohorts. In comparrison, five (5) years messing over Iraq -- who had nothing to do with 9/11 or WMD's -- has yet to cost a trillion dollars, while this government bailout takes on liability for SIX trillion dollars,,, ... buying all these bad debt mortgage loans to save banker's butts and passing on that debt to tax payers. This should be no surprise. It's like FEMA in New Orleans. It's like starting a war for false reasons. It's like letting bin Laden run around alive and free. It's like running out of money to build and repair roads and bridges. It's like joblessness hitting the highest levels in five years. It's our country going down the tubes, whether for Wall St. bankers, Oil companies, or the interests of Israel. Bend over America, this is the final screw job of evil profiteers dest

POPSUSA Running out of Money to build roads/bridges
I realize economic issues don't have the drama of war but the way Wall Street & Congress has recently transferred TRILLIONS of dollars of debt to the government is astounding. Wall St. & Congress have risked as much taxpayers money that could have paid for 16 years of *@#$%-over Iraq. Now we can't pay to build or repair our own roads and bridges. Be sure to notice the clear statement: "Until Friday the White House has been hostile to it." (i.e. hostile to the approval of money for roads and bridges,) --- because already Bush is trying to blame it on the Democrats. For God's sake, could there be anything more basic to provide for a nation? Bridges are collapsing. New Orleans is still not rebuilt three years later. Joblessness hits a 5-year high. Wall St. transfers trillions of dollars of bad debt to the government, we're guilty of torture and other war crimes, we've murdered maybe half-a-million Iraqi who had nothing to do with 9/11 or WMD's. bin Laden is still alive an

POPSImpeach Bush Resolution - One More Try
Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated that there will be no consideration of impeachment proceedings against Bush and said the idea was "off the table." So I guess this means this second effort is also going nowhere. Why does the Democratic leadership continue to refuse to do this? Is having oral sex in the White House with a willing 24-year old worse that killing 5,000 US troops, killing over 100,000 Iraqi citizens, displacing millions, spending trillions, etc.? At least the 35 points for impeachment that Kucinich spelled out are a nice summary of Bush's war crimes and may prove useful after Bush leaves office. Unfortunately, while the Democrats must be voted for this election,IMO, they seems to have no guts for a real showdown, not wanting to "upset the apple cart," as they trundle along to a presumed election landslide. Who knows? Maybe they have a point; although if Bush attacks Iran that point is quite lost. Note: None of this was printed in a USA newspaper.

POPS Karl Rove Unraveling: Congress threatens arrest.
ormer White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes in a surprisingly scathing memoir to be published next week that President Bush “veered terribly off course,” was not “open and forthright on Iraq,” ALSO, RE; ROVE, McClellan asserts that Karl Rove, the president’s senior adviser, “Scooter” Libby and VP Cheney had a meeting on how to handle the Valarie Plame CIA leak case (i.e. a collusion in a Federal case) NOW a Congresswoman on the Judiciary Committee, said on TV yestereday that if Rove doesn't show up for a subpoena --- concerning the Siegelman's case. ---CONGRESS WILL ARREST HIM! Who knew Congress could arrest people!? (like a parliament deciding to arrest someone). Well, it turns out there is actually a one room jail in Congress and they can send out the 'sergeant at arms,' and (without the police or courts), go out and arrest someone. Whew! This just keeps getting -- as Alice in Wonderland cried -- ''Curiouser and curiouser!" Isn't it great! The wheels

POPSBush puppet video: More War or Less Jobs
At least Bush is providing a lot of stimulus for the creative arts. This threat to suspend without pay over a hundred thousand civilian worker unless he get's his next dose of war funding is true. How pathetic. Like a poor loser on the playground who threatens to take his ball and go home. Of course the fact that the "limits" on the war that Bush is objecting to is another Democrat charade, with "more holes than Swiss cheese," that would allow the war to continue and continue and continue puts many of us in a quandry: Advocate the pretense and charade of the Democrat bill or just sit back and watch Bush veto it (if it ever passes). Decisions. Decisions. The key deceit is this "anti-war," resolution, HR 4156 allows troops to stay to "protect American assets." These "assets," include the 14 or 15 permanent military bases being built for a long-term occupation; part of the war plans from the beginning. Humm...maybe Obama would do the least damage.? (hope the video works)

POPSWar Bills From Both Parties Fail in Senate_Nov07
At least the politicians and press are no longer saying they need 60 votes to pass a bill -- they only need 51 votes, a simple majority -- to not only pass any legislation BUT they could also change their 60-vote 'cut off debate,' current procedure...change it with the vote of a simple majority. So, if they wanted to get serious, #1, change the procedure which currently requires 60 votes to prevent a filibuster; change this with a 51% vote. OR #2 Have the filibuster. Force the Republicans to stand up and talk for 24-hours a day. Outlast them. Fight them. But no, not this week. Time to go home for Thanksgiving. You sort of wish they'd all get stripped searched at the airport but one thing is clear (and good)...the Republican counter-offer, the $70 billion with no anti-war strings attached also did not get passed so, clearly, this battle has been postponed. Time will tell. Tune after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, BTW, is a very nice holiday. Almost everyone but AIM would prob

POPSUSA Congress: Yesterday: X-Rated Review
One refreshing aspect of current USA political discussion is seeing and hearing the massive tidal wave, the roaring tsunami of resentment and anger, now directed at both US political parties. Gosh...I remember 'back in the Day,' when it was a few and sporadic voices seeking to mount opposition to the growing American fascism and imperialism -- all done under the waving of the flag and invoking of Christianity. But, gosh, now today it's hard to keep up with the many voices that scream for action, that wail against the policies of Bush and his neo-con illegitimate warmongers. It appears activist are thumbing through their dictionaries, thesauruses, Ency. Brits, Bulfinch's mythology, Aesops fables, records of the Crusades and Spanish Inquisitions, not to mention of course Homer, Shakespeare, Barry McGurie, Bob Dylan, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, etc. Yes, indeed, "The Eastern World, it is exploding..." Now, even slang and profanity are being strained to their limits.

POPS President above the law, Nominee for US Attorney General says
This warmongering White House just keeps unraveling our Constitution, our principle, our ideals, our society and our politics day after day. A common idea we use to have, for example, was that "No man is above the law." But apparently this nominee thinks the President is above the law. And the talk is still how he's suppose to be approved!? Screw him. Screw any politician who votes for him. Of course in the real world we all know that the rich, if not 'above the law,' normally have a 'better,' law, better results with the law, better lawyers, special consideration. So too big names, celebrities, Hollywood stars. Most of US prisons, for example, are overpopulated with the poor, the least educated and the minorities. (The USA has the biggest prison populations in the world, BTW, by %) The audaciousness of these warmongers. Theyshoot you in the face and expect/get the victim to apologize for being there (a Cheney factual example). Well...no longer a good country. Hopefully

POPSTrash the Status Quo! Kick out Warmongers!
I have finally gotten to the point of clipping my own blog: These are desperate times indeed; (but I'm also putting my money where my mouth is) We need to kick the Status Quo in the ass. I'm sorry if my language has lost it's patience on this but I need to make it clear: We have gangsters in the White House and wimps, liers and warmongers in Congress. Thus, direct citizen action is the only thing that will actually DO something and the tools our Founding Fathers put in the Constitution are the bottom line, are the only tools we have left: initiative, referendum or recall. We need to Recall Republican governors in every state possible. Everything else is bull*shit. I' pledge to pay the cost for startup. PS - check out the blog. It's sweet and to the point. For more info got to: http://www.americancitizenstogether.org Note: citizenbfk is no stranger to politics. Has started a recall himself once (It achieved it's goal) and has nearly 20,000 hits on Google if you want mor

POPSPaving the way towards War in Iran:Writing on the Wall
Once-upon-a-time something called a "Declaration of War," was required before invading another country. But since World World Two our nation has 'sneaked,' into wars on resolutions such as this; once deceptive step at a time. Lieberman, one of the zionist extremist in our Congress, has already made his position clear. In a press release from his office last week that said: that Tehran "has already declared war on the US," by it alleged actions that contribute to the deaths of US troops. Very clever. Who could be in favor of seeing the troops of one's own nation killed. Did we need a Senate resolution today to say that? No. Behind this universal sentiment of not wanting to see one's troops killed Lieberman gets the Senate to all agree that we should "confront," those who are killing our troops. It's not war, see? It's "confronting." Bush agrees. Of course, our invading Iraq for lies is inconsequential. & Note:The third aircraft-carrier, Enterprise, just got sent to the

POPSRepublicans Refuse to give troops a decent break.
I think I got this headline right. US Senator Jim Webb is one of the few in Congress who was actually in a war. Using the National Guard to fight in a foreign war in the first place is a rip off; now coldly denying them a decent time to re-connect to their homes and ready for the next in an endless series of deployments, is a cold-hearted action by Congress towards it's own people and shows that it is these warmongering Republicans who -- based on this one vote alone -- can be seen as Not Supporting Our Troops. (Who actually, BTW, besides these Republicans todays, is NOT keen on supporting our troops!? Just more propaganda bullshit). And now it seems, again, that we have even lost majority rule!? What this things about needing 60-votes to get something passed. As we see by the vote here, if we went back to majority rule this amendment would be passed. How come 60 votes weren't required when the Republicans controlled Congress. This whole situations sucks. I bet Senator W

POPSUS Senate votes 50-48 to keep Iraq War Withdrawal deadline
I heard a special limo caravan was sent out for Dick Cheney to rush him over to Congress in case a tie-breaking vote was needed; like if just ONE Senator had shifted and the vote was 49-49; then Cheney could have made it 50-49. So, it was that close: It was One Vote close. (symptomatic of how Bush keeps acting in ways to DIVIDE the nation; but also symptomatic of the people's will in our recent last elections, and the new Democratic power in Congress to challenge Bush and expose his lies and corruption.) I heard that Cheney's motocade speed to the White House but it was a wasted trip-- there was no tie -- he (nor Bush) could do nothing about it. I would have loved to be in that motorcade as it somberly drove back to Cheney's White House office. Yea...the war is over. Realistically, it may take another year. Realistically all troop may never actually leave; just give up prime combat roles. Realistically plans for permanent bases are still there...but..4sure, the tide has ch

POPSUSA SUPPORT COLUMBIAN DRUG LORD & MASS MURDERER LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT: The USA is supporting a dictator who also commands his own death squads and he the country's leading Drug Boss. Yup....that what this story says. What a surprise, my gosh. Our tax dollars at work. Another great example of the USA spreading peace and democracy and joy around the wold. Another example of TRUTH being trampled by blood and bullets.

POPSOnly Republican Stooges Need Apply for US Attorney
Fitzgerald is the attorney who recently convicted White House aide 'Scooter' Libby of lying about leaking name of CIA agent, and documenting how all this led back to Vice-President Dick Cheney and his efforts to Cover-UP the use of fale intelligence deliberate used to wrongly justify the war in Iraq. So, now it appears the White House rated him as "not doing a good job." Ah yes...It's getting clearer. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The writing is sprawled all over the wall. And that idea that all Presidential Appointments needed confirmation by the Senate; well, that was sort of getting in the way wasn't it. How much better Bushhead to change the Constitution, violate our civil rights of the Constitution, start a war based on known lies, and reshape the Supreme Court and all state Attorney Generals to suit him -- WITHOUT the previous bothersome hassle of realizing there's a Congress, nor apparently, realizing there is A People; and we should impeach him and Che

POPSCongress Opposes Bush Big Time This is a good first step. If Bush and his neo-con criminal cabal believed in democracy they should believe in our USA democracy, the elections of last November and all the polls.
