POPSAnna Piaggi is Thee Best: Lesson 1 I really really love Anna Piaggi because she always LOOKS like she knows she's surrounded by assholes. This is the look everyone should always have in the ~serious fashion business~. She totally gets it, I looove her.

POPSLagerfeld-ites all dress the same. She does it slightly better. The look in her eyes tellls me that maybe she understands the coat as a faux pas by now, Maybe she's sneaking in after everyone else... She maybe hid behind a particularly-fabulous palm frond to avoid the embarrassment. The boots are a little crazy-talk for her age, it looks. I really wish at least ONE of the ladies had the smarts to pick themselves a different belt though.

POPSLagerfeld-ites all dress the same. I really hope they don't think they're THAT cool. There are pictures of like 5 different women wearing that SAME plaid coat, with the SAME belt to the SAME fashion show. Does it become a terrible faux pas when like FIFTEEN DIFFERENT PEOPLE show up in the same coat?!

POPSDepending on Textiles: Lesson 1 Hi, Marc Jacobs. Please, y'know, design a dress and not, y'know, just drape panels of nice fabric to make a "dress." Also, why the sexy-outside-fake-underwear on a really unsexy dress, err shirt? Louis Vuitton was so good this season, why didn't you leave like ONE real garment for yr signature collection?

POPSYou screwed it up with the hat, Marc. I could harangue for days about the diffuculty involved in making this jacket (Somebody made GOOD friends with the baby-iron), but Man, the hat. Why the fucking hat? I hope it's a rain hat, but a) You should protect the jacket rather than yr hair, and B) Don't wear it. The colors of the accessories are the best colors for anything ever.

POPSPrada super-"new school" japanese/chinese pajamas I really don't like cartoons; It's weird, I just don't. So my liking Takashi Murakami has more to do with the multiple eyes and cum-splatters than squeaky voiced fake animals or animal-people. Oh also, what a weird collar, especially with the panel of white right underneath it, So awkward but kinda good. Is the shirt like, Venus on the Half-Shell but anime? what the fuck?

POPSBalenciaga "Peaked and rounded w/ raglan stitching" Oh Nicolas, You're a winner. You are such a winner that you have the most ultra-winningest pattern drafter of all time. I have no idea who this person is, but I love imagining her as an eighty-year old Italian woman who chides and slaps you when you bring her these ridiculous sketches. Then she makes them and YOU cry.

POPSMiu Miu "Play Dress"/whore-jester outfit that I actually like. I actually think this is really great, despite jab-worthy. White-black-midgray-true red is probably one of my favorite stripe progressions ever. See Russian constructivists; Yellow (color of the sun) doesn't show up too much in Soviet St. Petersburg. Red, gray, black. Winter white like snow.

POPSBalenciaga 08 blue super-shaped 2-piece Whoa, this is good. I'll be the first completely unassociated bystander to say Pattern drafter: Be very proud of yourself. I can tell how hard you worked; I can't do that shit!

POPSzsa zsa gabor with sad matted-furred puppy. Maybe I'm just used to pictures utilizing the trend in "dog stylists" (they exist!!!) but, yeah. Do you see how the red wall makes her dress look greenish, but it's really black? YES! It looks like red, green, yellow, colors I really like!

POPSgypsy rose lee in strange, awesome corset The strange thing is... The corset has an attached, very revealing, uh, bra? attached. What, why?! It sure is pretty, though... Also shows the reason you wear stuff over waist-cincher corsets, you get armpit muffintops. eeeew Gypsy!

POPSethel merman in happy landing That lace is fully, fully saturated with starch. Wasn't it not really starch back then, but something gross-er? It had to be, everything was like that, man!

POPSbillie burke at home, 1941, w/ sombrero I bet your tin frames ruined all your cool stuff, darnit Billie! The dress is really wonderful though, vertical AND horizontal stripes! Also, LA earthquakes could disagree with the bronze bust on a VERY THIN pedestal. :/

POPSbillie burke at home, 1941 A great picture, I think... Aging (almost dead by then?) actress doing a dated pose in a dated room with rubber flowers. I like the fact that she has a mahogany piano, though. That painting is so busted i can't stand it!
