POPSHad Enough Yet? But aren’t the voters ultimately to blame? In a way, yes, but there’s more to the story. People are left no choice but to pay taxes, so when virtually every politician promises “benefits” in return for those coerced payments, what will most people do? The political establishment has implicitly sold the system as a big mutual-aid society. Most people don’t realize that government’s forced transfers are as much acts of robbery as those that occur in dark alleys. Nor do they understand the harm done or the opportunities forgone when government distributes the money. The well-heeled, well-organized, and well-connected have no trouble securing their subsidies and tax preferences, while sundry “benefits” are bestowed on others in return for their acquiescence in the corrupt process.

The bigger the lie and the more obvious it is, the harder it is to believe that’s what’s you’re looking at. Until you LOOK. In my 39 years as a reporter, I’ve come across maybe 100 scandals that could cause a significant sector of the medical cartel to burst into flames and blow away in the wind. This is one of those. Of course, media, government, and drug corporations make sure such a thing never happens. And when I say media, I’m including publications you’d think would love to watch a really good fire. Turns out they have no stomach for it.

Who’s driving? Did they do the maintenance inspection on the fleet? You’re driving down the road at dawn, and the cows are standing in a field of green, the grass so high it obscures their legs and they look like they’re floating, and not a thought is given to what’s in the back of the truck.

It’s not the missing programs. It’s a generalized fatigue that came after the big surrender, when teachers and administrators and parents decided that the pressure of repetition in the classroom was intrusive and invasive, a social misstep. After that moment of surrender, all sorts of stories were made up to explain what was going wrong with education of the young. The stories were all off the main point, because very few people were willing to face the truth.

I suppose it just has to be spelled out for some. When Monday I heard Trump had raised the issue, followed by his displaying of the "CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH" it was a matter of a minute or less before I began to wonder if that was just the 1st stage of a two-part process. Surely this had to be intentional (Oh! Ooopsy!), to be followed up with the only responsible, logical "corrective measures" displaying what one clearly ought to do next in that situation. What a douche one would make of himself otherwise. But, assuming others are as dumb as THEY are, leftists only used as much brain as they are capable of. THE POINT HERE IS THAT IT IS ACHIEVABLE, AFTER POSTING THE INSUFFICIENT DOCUMENT, TO ATTAIN AND POST THE CORRECT DOCUMENT. THE ONE WHICH WILL SATISFY THE REASONABLE PUBLIC CALL TO PRODUCE SUCH A DOCUMENT. The point - made clear to those who can take in the chain of related events as one whole lesson - sadly evades most who inwardly fear the potential mass appeal of Mr.Trump

POPSOn the Ugly Betty Sparrow Is it humanly possible to avoid some, or any, kind of value bias in this kind of experiment? Could it not be that the sparrows are looking more for similarities?...as opposed to having ANY kind of value judgment or feelings of "less than"? For the human it is seen as "settling for" a lesser, whereas with these creatures they avoid all emotional context and just seek out one who is the more compatible. Whatsmore, why are these "findings" news? Aren't these things that most of us kind of know intuitively? I guess they ARE interesting in a way. They get us thinking, and are useful as intellectual stepping-stones, I guess.
